Agreed.........Dunno about 2016s but most likely you'll need to cruise on down to the dealer for them to turn yours off

    Lol.....

Because he is asking how to do something slightly irrational. And being a rational person, I/we can recognize irrational things and ask for justification.

Just because e ask doesn't mean OP has to answer.

If OP asked how to turn off his airbags, would you just blindly answer without the slightest question of why?

Yes, I have no vested interest in the reason for anyone's questions. "Why ask why?" is soooo last century.

I'm not overly concerned with it, I'm usually buckled-up before even starting the truck so I don't hear it.

    Lol.....

I'm not going to let you guys troll me anymore.

If you think the guy is irrational and you don't want to help him with his problem then move along.
If you are interested in helping OP solve his problem for his interest or yours then, by all means, contribute something helpful. If not...move along.

Seems like a pretty simple solution, and it can be applied to almost every internet forum thread.

Why would you feel the need to come into this thread and comment? You don't think that the OP is rational. You don't have anything helpful to contribute to the OP's problem. Instead, you chose to turn the thread into a flame/bait thread. That (by definition) is an internet troll.

Here are some general guidelines to follow if indeed you are not a troll.

If you think the guy is irrational and you don't want to help him with his problem then move along.
If you are interested in helping OP solve his problem for his interest or yours then, by all means, contribute something helpful. If not...move along.

I can turn it off using techstream, like I did in the 2014 4runner. its an annoying beep since I require everyone to put a seat belt on regardless.

its gets really annoying when I stop and wait for the warden to go inside the store shopping and I just sit in the truck running. surf the net with the seat belt off. and no I am not turning off the truck went its -20F outside for 20-30 minutes.

No time to read through the banter....
OP this is probably your best bet. Quick and easy.
You can find the dummy buckles online for very little $$.
I have one, I use one OR, when the belt is a pia.

When I responded I had a feeling this thread would end up like this. People use their trucks for different purposes. Because people want to turn their chime off doesn't necessarily mean they don't wear their belt 100% of the time. We don't know their situation. They want it off for the times they don't use it which wasn't specified so...answer the question or, as texasnavy05 suggested, move along.

I roll with mine turned off because I don't need or want the vehicle telling me what to do and have it makin a bunch of damn noise if I don't wanna submit to it's wishes. I have the thumbs and a key which means I am in charge, not the truck. I'll wear my belt because it makes sense to do so, not because the truck is telling me to. Nanny shit can STFU and GTFO.............

Right on Man. The dude should be able to do what he wants.

Maybe he has a crappy life but good life insurance for his family.
Maybe he thinks his seatbelt might slow him down if is truck goes off a bridge into a lake. My uncle thought that until he got broadsided and ejected from his truck. The cops said he would have been fine if he had been wearing his belt.

Sure thing. I don't see why it wouldn't fit. I don't think the belt buckle changed. When I got mine there was an option to get just one and it was fairly inexpensive. Get one, try it, if it doesn't work someone will buy it.
    Best of luck.

If you're LE, special investigator, SWAT, FBI, CIA etc, many do not wear their seatbelts due to the need to either get down below the door levels, or exit the vehicle very quickly with a weapon drawn.

    There's you're valid reason ;)
