I'm going through the same thought process with the access cab. I have one on order without the package. The heated seats are starting to sound more appealing as the weather turns. $1480 MSRP (no sunroof) on the access cab. Depending on your climate...heated seats...budget; good luck:)

Part of the appeal of the newer one for me was the tech package. The heated seats are pretty awesome, but if you ever ride with a passenger, dual zone a/c is priceless. Think about it, you never have to worry if they are too hot or too cold. And if its your significant other, you wont have to either suffer to make them happy or make them suffer so you're happy. The BSM and what not is a meh point, it would be better if the insurance offered a discount on it. Auto headlights are a nice touch. And for me on the DC, I love having a moonroof. I mountain bike a lot, so getting in the car all sweaty I always want the windows down and hated not having a moonroof. Only thing this truck is missing is a power rear window, then it would be perfect

I think he's asking if he should get the tech package or not and cant make a decision. But they need to know today and he isnt sure what to do as far as deciding about the package

I just think yelling when I read this lol, damn caps lock. I will note that some people whine about head room with the moonroof, so if you are tall and sit super straight up when you drive this may be an issue, but then again you will also be looking through the very top of the windshield which is another issue in itself lol. Me personally, I dont feel like im in the ceiling

that's not even close to how I read that line from him.

either way, its still going to be that person's decision.

my opinion don't get it ...

    my other opinion, get it.

The grammar would've helped, I misread it at first as well. What do I do? referring to him trying to decide on the tech package or not. Then a mention about him needing to let his work know today. At least its not a blueT message haha

Considering you get an employee discount, no brainer...Go for it. The Nav and BSM are priceless and some day the BSM will be standard on all cars, you watch.

Nav is standard on the TRD models. BSM will either one day end up standard or at least result in an insurance discount. Not that it really helps if you know how to drive, but we can always hope. OP you goin tech with or without JBL?

Mine does not have the Tech, I wanted JBL, but didn't want to wait. The only thing I wanted from the Tech was the Auto Headlights, I didn't want the moon/sun roof. Get the whole package if you like those features ... because it is hard to put in after market for those options. Either way you will LOVE your Taco!

I went into the dealer thinking I was going to get a double cab trd sport with tech package, aftermarket leather, but then realized I really didn't like the wheels on the trd sport and loved them on the limited.....limited wheels are $3k dealer pricing, aftermarket leather is $1700 dealer pricing.

Not that I would pay $3k for toyota wheels, but that helped me decide to just get the limited even though I'm apprehensive about the brown leather, all in it costs less then IF I was to buy aftermarket or toyota rims on the loaded TRD sport

I have to have the tech package, I have 4 vehicles but this will be my most common mode of transport, and I am looking forward to the upgraded gizmos like blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic....and homelink only comes on the limited, not a deal breaker but nice

I thought that I wanted many of the Tech package features, but I definitely did not want a glass moonroof on a truck (DCSB). I know of several Tundras and a couple of f150s in town that all have failed sunroofs. Just because they work in a car, it doesn't seem that anyone has solved the problem of making a large sunroof work in a vehicle that flexes. Some of the fails leak, some won't move after having been down our desert and mountain back roads. If you only drive on pavement, not likely a problem. I had great luck with 3 Subarus, a Volvo wagon and a Peugeot sunroof, but they never went on much worse than county dirt roads. They also had much shorter wheelbases, so not subject to as much chassis flex through the potholes anyway.

trading a 15 for a 16 i would advise test drive the 16 and not just around the block. big difference in the engine performance.

I really didn't feel that big of a difference, It is different but, not a purchasing decision difference. And tech pack if you can afford it. you'll be happy later.
