Hey All; having some pretty major mechanical issues out in Moab at the moment. Please PM for details, but I'm on a trail close to town - but somewhat technical....

I've diagnosed it as a bad clutch slave/master - or a failed syncro. As it stands, the clutch will not disengage - the truck will start in gear, with no clutch action whatsoever.

I'm with another truck, I winched myself to a safe location...plenty of food...plenty of water... I have my RTT...

    Truck is a 2007 2.7L, 5 speed manual.

If it comes to it, I'm not averse to replacing the transmission with a junkyard/alternatively sourced unit.

Or; if it's a clutch Master/Slave... That's easier to replace.

Watching the clutch fork on the exterior side of the bell housing, it does move. Clutch feels rather clunky.

I have HAM radio as well, and it's a short jaunt to where I have cell. So I'll periodically check here as the night progresses.

    Thanks!

    Jake

@jeverich sorry to hear, I'm about 4 hours away from Moab but would be willing to help if needed. I'll look online at the local junkyards for replacement parts (R155F right?) Keep us posted.

Will do; thanks so much for the quick response. There's been several that have suggested the other truck tows me out... But I'm about in the middle of Golden Spike.

I see that being dangerous at best.

At this point, I'm trying to diagnose where exactly the problem lies. I can get the truck out of gear by rocking it, but once it's running, the clutch does nothing. Pulled the inspection plate on the front of the transmission, didn't see any clutch pieces come out... Slave cylinder is moving the fork, although I'm not certain as to the normal range of movement with this truck.

    Yes, it's and R155F - 2007 2.7 L 5 speed Manual.

A quick search located the closest used trans to you in Denver, there is one in Pocatello that is closer to me for about 100 bucks cheaper...

Also, what part of Golden Spike are you on? A tow out might be possible.

Edit: Sorry I was thinking of Trifecta as a whole, you closer to Poison spider or Gold bar?
