Well, after quietly lurking around here and gathering information for the last six months, I finally have a plan on what I'd like to do for my suspension/lift. I have an '08 DCLB 4x4 Sport and I'm in the process of getting the rear leaf TSB approved and done.

Once that's all set, I plan to add a rear AAL from Toytec that's designed to be added to the rear TSB springs...

as well as a set of Billies up front...

I'm going to run the stock TRD Sport wheels that I'm painting black with a set of 285-70-17 tires like BFG All-terrains or something along those lines. Wondering if I'll be able to clear the 285's without much problem. I'll trim inner-fender and whatever else I have to. Also wondering what height I should set the Billies set to so that it's as level as possible. Thanks for any advice y'all can provide...

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
You will need wheel spacers to clear 285's.

From what I read, tsb = 1'', tsb aal = 1.5'', so billys set to 2.5 Should work out well.

So adding a set of 1.25" Spidertrax would help with clearance? Something like these...

I woulda thought those tires would be too big, are you going to set the 5100's at 2.5?

That was my plan...not sure if 2.5" is gonna be enough to clear the 285's either. That's one of the reasons I posted in hopes of hearing "that's what I'm running and I'm happy" or "don't do it -- tried it and it was a nightmare".

No substitue for the "been there, done that"...

Well, I can't speak from experiance, but my $0.2 for what it's worth would be that you're gonna have to do quite a bit of trimming.

If you're ok with that, then give it a try I guess.

Again, I havn't done it so I'm not speaking from experiance, and if it were me, I would not attempt it.

    FWIW:
I'm looking at the same set up and I'm doing 5100's in the front set at 1.75 and TSB in the rear. I'm going to run my stock 17's and go with 265/70R17 NTG's.

Your truck looks sweet! Are you running wheel spacers? Do your tires stick out past the lip of your fender?

Also trying to figure out the best tire to run...need aggressive look, highway manners, and excellent winter & wet weather traction. Soooo many choices...

no im not running spacers,, dont need them with my pro-comps...my wheels are 17x8 so the tires only stick out about a half inch or less.. IMO the BFG KM2's are the best mud tire on the market , quiet, smooth riding tire....read the reviews, they speak for themselves.
