Local shop, 4wheelparts.com shop. Refused to install my 887 and 5100s that they ordered. Once they received them and set them up, they said they would not put that on my truck as the coil didn't sit properly on the strut and could potentially slip off the seat and blow my strut out.

I was tryin to replace my spacer lift. Now I have my rough country 3" lift spacers with 5100 set at .085. Not claiming the spacers to be 3", that's just what the lift is called they don't give the spacer size.

It's Bette ride than it was I just wish I could ride in a vehicle with the 887 coils to see what I'm missing.

Never use 4wp. I have only heard and seen bad things, ask for a refund, what they are doing is a puppy dog sell. Sell you the parts, get you all excited, then bam, oh no can't do it unless you spend more. You already spent that much so most people just roll over and take one deep without lube. Don't fall for it.

I am one of the people running 887s with billies. I love it, and recommend it to pretty much everybody. Had it installed at the dealership and they had no problem doing it. It is unfortunate that this happened to you, OP, as so many others have that combo with no issues. Your scenario is the first I've heard of any shop refusing to pair those up. Good to know for those looking into this setup I suppose. Based on what I'm seeing here, this may just be a case of bad luck in choosing a shop...

I'm not the type to go for the big name store just cause it easier, I shopped it and they had the best prices. They were not familiar with he setup at all, and I assured them many people were running it. They would have put my truck back together for me if I wanted.

But I chose to just run the billies with my spacer for now. Figured I can change and get the 887 later. Do it my self or sowmtjing.

They refused because they were unsure that it wouldnt break and wasn't going to warranty it there if I made them so it. So I didn't wanna fight that battle should something stupid happen.

I am sorry to hear about the issues you guys have had. I have reached out to the OP and try to get something resolved for him. I know here at my store, we have done those kits, I'm not calling another one of my shops incompetent, but at this time I do not know the full extent of the issue. In the past month, i have done two tacomas with 887's and 5100's.

I try to personally make everyone I possibly can be happy, and know they made the right decision.

If any of you have any questions, please contact me, and I would love to chat, or try and help out with any issues!

    Thank you!

I had this happen to me, i purchased my own shocks and springs all i wanted 4wp to do was mount the springs on the shock. And they said nope that the OME springs are designed only for OME shocks. I have been running them for months with no issues.

Did you buy the products from a 4wp store or online?

Sorry for the misinformation, but 4WP'S policy is, if you did not buy the product from us, we can not install it. Company policy due to liability purposes.

That is no excuse for the incorrect information, but, even then, we wouldn't have been able to help you.

That is definitely not what any shop wants to have as a reputation.

I'm not making excuses for any 4wp store, but i agree, not acceptable.

I don't know the logistics of what all happened, how long ago, or whatever happened in this axle.

I work in the Orlando store, and always try to go above and beyond for any customer to make sure they are happy!!!

I have reached out to the store in question in the Op's post, and have talked with this customer, Justin, on the phone for quite some time this afternoon. Hopefully we have this figured out!!

Thank you, sometimes, people make mistakes, and when it's something like that.. it's pretty big.

By no means am i saying my store is perfect, but we try to be..

I truly believe shops always try their best, and sometimes... it's just not good enough, and mistakes happen.

I don't agree with what i see with what you posted, but i don't know the whole story either, ya know?!
