Would the 17" TRD PRO wheels work, I have a similar question but I'm not sure that the backspacing is on them, or what backspacing or offset you need. Like Matt I definitely don't want to run spacers.

Yes those wheels will work just fine without spacers. I didn't have any issues with my.

In other news, just got the truck back. Just some minor cosmetic mods, but I love how it turned out.

    Blacked out the underbite

And had the stamped tailgate wrapped as well

Seems to me that to find a -12 offset im more than likely going to have to go up to 17's if i want a wider array of options to pick from.

Thanks for the help. The truck is looking awesome, anyway to get a photo of the tailgate from further back? And any recommendations on the lift?

Yessir, all vinyl. I had it done at a place called Echelon Autosports in North Scottsdale. They work our of my buddies shop(Scottsdale Vault). Top notch work, and really fair prices. $100 bucks out the door.

Thanks for the help Josh, looks like the Method's would work too. I'm concerned with the backspacing on the SCS SR8s.

Thanks man!! As for the lift, it really all depends on what you want to do. The bilstien 5100 kit from toytec is priced great, and offers great on and offroad performance. Of course you can always spend more or less based on your needs. But I installed that kit on my buddies truck over the weekend and he's thrilled with it.

Damn that looks great! I definitely need to color match my bumper.. I keep hearing good things about it but wasn't sure if its just better to get some new coilovers all together. Bilstien has one, Toytec does and then of course Icon would be great but its pricy. On you buddies truck what size tires was he able to run? Do you think the 275/70/17s would fit without rubbing?

So he's running 285/70 17's without any rubbing so I think you'd be safe.

Edit. this is the kit we are running on his truck. Great bang for the buck. Of course you can't go wrong with Icon or Fox Either (I am running Icon)

He's running those just on the 5100's!? From what I've read everyone has said you need more lift than that. I'm sorry if you already answered it on here what setting did you put them at and is the back stock? If I could fit 285s or just 275s on the TRD Pro wheels it would be perfect until I can get a better lift.

That's a good question, and something I can't give you a 100% yes or no on. However, if you run the 5100's at 2 inches of lift, yes, you "should" clear the 275's. I haven't personally installed this set up so that's why I can't say 100% either way, but based on what I know from my truck, and the clearance I have, you should be just fine with that set up

He used Suntek on mine, and previous vehicles I've taken to him. But if he did make a switch, I'm sure it's still great stuff, plus he always stands behind his work.

I just don't want to be the first guinea pig and not have it work. If I remember correctly Dean said that at 1.75" notch was maxed to have in within the correct specs without getting new UCAs. At the .85 notch they would rub like crazy then. Is that correct or am I way off on this? This is all new to me I come from stock cars and a stock 98 4runner.

Well, my buddy whom I mentioned before is still running his stock UCA's with a full 3" lift and his truck aligned perfectly within spec and does not have any rubbing. No doubt that 265's would be a safe bet and would easily clear, I still think you could swing the 275's

Thanks Jerry, I'll give it a shot with the 275s! I actually found them online cheaper than the 265/70/17s (KO2s for both).
