I thought it was interesting, I was stopped at a light today (middle lane) and someone in a '16 white tacoma rolled up very close to the car in front of them in the right lane, I guess to sort of say hi. Didn't realize I was joining such a tight club! :)

The Jeep Wrangler community is like that. Always got the Jeep wave anytime I passed another

I have to admit that I am just a little disappointed in the lack of a Tacoma Wave. I've been driving Jeeps forever - and still do - so the lack of the wave kinda surprises me. The two communities are incredibly similar. I've offered the wave a few times without reciprocation. Oh well, I'll just have to jump back in my Jeep when I wanna get the wave!

Yeah I wasn't prepared for it, so didn't really acknowledge it properly. I'll have to think of what's appropriate.

LOL my only other truck was a S-10 and there was no wave there. Despite that, I really liked that little truck!

Pulled up to the grocery store yesterday and parked near another MGM DCLB. Owner was there and we both said "nice truck!" at the same time, then spent about 20 minutes BS'ing about what mods we plan and pretty much anything and everything. It was a good time, I've always had cars that bring owners together so its nice thats in the Tacoma crowd too.

theres also the subie wave. at least taco owners dont tailgate you and rev their engine at stop lights and try to race you like nissan 240sx owners. i loved my 240, but damn, it was anoying dealing other owners. i guess the difference lies in the fact that most people who own tacos are adults/well-composed individuals rather than 18 year olds who just finished watching fast n furious.

Most Jeep owners with whom I exchange the wave appear to be in their 30's, 40's and more. There's one ancient dude in a Willey's that exchanges the wave on a regular basis! Honestly, I don't see too many "youngsters" tooling around Kentucky in Jeeps exchanging the wave.

Yes. Yes I do. I will never part with the Jeep. There's a pretty solid chance I'll never part with my Tacoma either. To rip off a quote I saw elsewhere, between the two vehicles, "I have 99 problems, but a ditch ain't one."

I own a '91 VW Vanagon Westy camper. It has a 2.5L Subie engine so that I can drive it easily. VW bus and van drivers wave excessively and enthusiastically. I've met a lot of people at gas stops and camping areas.

The only downfall is the amount of Tacoma owners out there. Because it's such a common vehicle more than 1/2 the owners are oblivious to the strong Tacoma following. To them it's just a another vehicle in their driveway. At least it seems that way here in CA. Tacoma's are a dime a dozen.

One can never have too many light bars.
My brother used to have a 240 and it definitely had the actual tuner crowd that was into actually improving the cars and the beater crowd that thought they were going fast with their hood that had a carbon fiber vinyl on it with cut springs and an "exhaust" that was actually just a tailpipe that made more noise.

PLEASE no silly waves.....Have to deal with this on the Bike and the M-X5 and the Vette before that, Part of owning a truck is not having to do the "me too" wave.....Rant Over

These mo-rons are all over Kentucky and I'm happy they are because I get a pretty big kick out of the Hondas/Yotas/etc that are screaming down the road at 35 mph! Saw two of them "race" each just the other day. Their engines sounded like they were doing 0-60 in 2.5 seconds. Thing is, I was right behind them in my stock Tacoma hoping they'd get out of the way so I could go home. Nimrods! Hey, everyone was put on the Earth for a reason. Apparently those faux-tuners were put here to amuse me!
