I suspect the law is a bit different in every state. In Kentucky, the company who wrote the homeowners' insurance policy for the property on which the tree is rooted would be responsible for footing the bill.

Pretty much guaranteed that the OP's auto insurance will cover this and not the neighbor ( if it was a neighbors tree). Only way to have it covered by the neighbor is prove negligence on their behalf.. and that is extremely difficult.

we had to cut down all the trees and rip up all the grass cause we don't have enough water, cause we don't have enough dams or reservoirs, but we are somehow getting a bullet train to Fresno that nobody will ride!

Not knocking Fresno; it seems nice enough. But I really see no reason to get there in a hurry!

And they wonder why they have mud slides when it does rain........new dams and reservoirs haven't been approved for the past 50-60 years and population has tripled in that time. Sure glad Cali has all the answers that the whole country should live by.

and the new plan is to screw the almond farmers in the CA central valley out of the deeded water they have had since the beginning of time because they use such a large percentage of the water.

Thanks guys. Not sure if they will total it yet, it messed up the roof. On a positive note it started right up no trouble at all lol I was able to back it away from the tree.
