Okay, I'll be assertive instead: all your ideas are shit.

Yeah, the LSU game was a big win for Bama as I think LSU is a good team, but they're not the second best team in the country...

You want to go to an 8 team playoff, which I think is too many teams. Then you alluded to the idea of including 16 in order to give teams in the group of 5 a shot, which I think is way too many teams. So I expanded your idea to include 64 teams, so all possible relevant teams have a chance and make it like college basketball. At the end of the day all this is a moot point as anybody in this thread would watch college football whether there was a 64 team playoff or a 2 team championship game.

Finally, you are incorrect in your understanding of how the committee ranks teams. They do not use outside polls for any sort of judgement, Jeff Long has stated this multiple times that their rankings are completely independent of any polls and are based on the discussions that occur while deliberating. They don't go look at the AP poll and say "they have this team at 5, but we think they're more like 3rd." Also, while they do "use" computers to pull data, there are not computer ranking that actually have a weight and factor into the final released rankings (as was the case in the BCS era).

    Haha what team?

Our star QB graduated, the new 1st string tore his ACL before the season started, the 2nd string couldn't play, so now we have a third string QB starting

I figured as much, our records not much better at 4-6.

Wouldn't be surprised if it stays at 4

Somebody says something similar ever year. Not sure why it goes that way, but I certainly see that it does. Some of the longest "thread members" are SEC fans, and since these threads have been going the SEC has won most of the NCs. SEC fans are passionate, etc. etc.

I like hearing from people from all around, though I follow SEC a lot closer than other conferences myself.

I have no hatred for Mississippi State, never have. And the biggest MSU fan in here is a nice guy, so I feel like I can't really even be mean (not that I really would anyway)...

But it's game day, and MSU is the opponent, and I'm looking forward to watching Alabama shove those damn cowbells where we know their fans secretly want them to go.

I'm just ready for the game to get here at this point. Tired of reading game previews and breaking down stats. I just want this game to be here. And hopefully I won't watch a missed game winning field goal at the last second again, like I did against LSU. That is one of the worst possible ways to lose.

Just have to say as for our game, the battle of no offense's that our D won it with the forced turnovers and we'd have lost for sure if not for the human joystick. Also that Aaron Williams or whatever his name is in love with Malzan's "Johnson".
