Haha no, we're fine. Have food and shelter for a week if need be.

Attempting a tow/1st gear exit in the morning. Then it'll probably be a trailer to Bellingham. Luckily the other rig with me is a V6...

Will update here when I can.

    Thanks all.

Its really not that impressive that they were able to pull it off. All of Europe has been pretty easy to get around in. I remember when i was in Germany we went to France and Switzerland. Both border crossings were two guys at a small roadside guard shack. Showed passport and that was that we were in. SO all they have to do is get in via any country and can travel pretty freely. Thats all ill say though since this isnt a forum for other things id want to say.

No matter what though my thoughts go to all those affected. Sad and scary day and if some of the reports are true its going to be extremely hard on the families :(

Anyone used the Toyota owners website? I got curious and decided to see what the p.o.'s of my truck had taken it to the dealer for. Seems the rear diff lock/actuator was replaced on my truck around 82k miles.

Wow getting older now... Just a few miles before the rear locker, the fuel pump and canister was replaced also around 82k.

    Holy s. @ 65k.

It gets better. F me running. @ 44k
This part didn't show up on the Carfax either. You'd think something done at/by/through the dealer would show. Especially a frame repair.

I really hope there is some discrepancies in the report, since my truck is and 06 and by 11/06/06 there were 44k miles on the truck already.

    Man I'm pissed right now.

I never knew you could do that! Thats pretty cool for people who buy a used toyota. Be able to see what all has been fixed. I bought my truck new so i know what all has been done ot it by the weather (which is next to nothing)

That's a good point. I guess the coordination and the number of people is what's impressive. France has a rep for having a good intel service. Second time in a year they've missed it.

haha I know what you mean by not saying to much. People are getting banned on a thread about the terror attack.

Good grief! It took me until 170k miles to bugger up my frame! I would be pissed too.

I'll say it really frustrates and saddens me what happened in France, and it adds to a problem that is being handled poorly by the whole world. :(

@bobsuruncle , some of the problems you listed are common.
Motor mounts were a common issue for the early 2nd gens.
Leaf spring breakage is still happening (I took mine in for the AAL TSB way back, and just got another letter this year for an offer to replace the entire pack, specifically for the leaf breakage issue. I've seen someone else's springs break while on the trail).
    The other stuff... ehh.
I've had my rear diff replaced (common problem) and I'm on my second transmission (pump died under warranty).

    France we can agree on.

The motor mounts I can understand, but failure due to "heavy impact" resulting in a "cracked frame" and no brand on the title is a bit confusing to me.

I am aware of the leaf spring TSB, but its just that a TSB not a recall. I've got the letter also but every letter I get has yet to have a resolution to the problem. I've read that if I purchase after market leafs, when and if they do find a resolution and issue a recall they will compensate me for the leafs I replaced the OEM ones with. :dunno:

I wasn't at all surprised by what happened at the dealer, until I got the the last report they had available, which was the frame issue. What also troubles me is that there are no service records from zero miles through 44k miles.

Sure it seems I may have bought a commuter truck or even a sales business truck explaining the massive amount of miles in one year. It could have been dragged behind an RV with the rear drive line still attached and transmission in neutral also. (Not sure on rv towing procedures) The carfax stated it entered in Oregon and ended up at bud clary for sale or pre-ordered in Yakima.

I know there's nothing I can do about it now, but it still pisses me off.
