I'm seen posts about killing beep on all but 2015 models. Has anyone done it and if so is it same steps?

I didn't do the process, I simply unplugged the box under the hood that makes the noise. I'm on a mobile typing this so can't find it myself, but one of the existing threads on this subject has pictures of what I'm talking about.

It's a small black box about one inch square mounted just in front of the battery in the engine compartment. Unplug it and done!

I did the process I found somewhere else here on TW. It took me two tries but worked.

I followed these steps from a thread here on my 15 and it worked great

Step one: Open the drivers door and insert the key into the ignition

step two: Remove the key from the ignition and, within 5 seconds,
reinsert the key back into the ignition and switch to the on position.

Step three: After 10 seconds, the system enters the answer-back mode

step four: Within 10 of the answer-back beep the switching mode is
started, press the remote twice and teh system will turn off
or on based upon which the system is set.

Works exactly the same. Source: I have a 2015. Worked on the first try.

That's how I did it. I tried the ignition key trick and it worked, but reverted every time I unhooked the battery.

How long did you have the battery disconnected? I had mine disconnected twice over this last weekend to install some lights, and it didn't revert on mine.

Admittedly a long time, several hours while I installed the stereo.

I don't think mine was disconnected for more than 10 minutes either time, so that could be why. But it's weird that it somehow saved my all settings. I also didn't have to redo my stereo settings either.

So the drivers door stays open the entire time while doing this?
