id love to hear from some member that have some miles on the new trucks... Are the new seats any different from the 2nd gen TRD seats? I love my 2013 but after a long drive I get sore knees and butt... I'm about 6'1".... I sat in a 2016 at the dealer but you can't really tell until youve spent some time in them... So for anyone that commutes 45min or more in 2016 TRD (cloth seats)... How do you find them?

I have only test drove 2015's before. I am a first time Tacoma owner (2016 TRD 4 x 4 OR) and find the seats pretty comfortable however a 3 hour drive from Austin was a little stiff on the lower body....could be cause I am getting older though...ha ha

Just did a 1000 mile round trip this weekend and the seats were great. No sore back, knees, etc. I'm 6'1". Have about 1700 miles on the truck so far and I've been very happy with the driving position. I usually have problems with my knees hitting some part of a vehicle, but not such issues with the '16 Taco.

Longest road trip so far for me is about an hour, and I've done that a few times. I have back problems and so far so good for me as far as seat comfort. Not sure there's a vehicle out there that would allow me to jump in and drive for 6-8 hours at a stretch like I've done in the past - yes, age does have something to do with it! Happens to all of us at some time or another.

We finally got to set in a 2016 and the seats seem really hard...our X brand 2011 SUV has "firm"seats and they kill you on road trips.

    Any options with the seats?

What seats does the Limited have?

Our sweet old 1997 T100 has OUTSTANDING cloth covered split bench seats.....comfortable at the end of a 600 mile day....

I have 3200 miles ... one trip 7 hrs one way. I am 5' 8", first Taco. The seat is super comfortable, but after 2 hours driving... back of my knees/legs sore. I am coming from Ford Explorer where seats are high and full electric. I moved my seat farther back ... and stretched my legs out and found that worked for me. 55min plus commute one way to work and comfortable now ...really think I just had to get used to different seating scenario.

I tend to find my seat a but hard. I hope it softens up a bit.

I'm 6'3" and I find the seats and driving position very comfortable. My friend who has a 2015 Tacoma has also commented on how the seats are a lot more comfortable in the 2016.

I've had mine about 3 weeks, traded in my 2011 TRD Sport 4x4 and I think they're very comfortable. Much better than
the last truck and a bit larger as well.

I finally drove one last week, and I'm concerned about the seat comfort. I'm as tall as some of you (6'2"), with most of my height in my legs. I found that I needed to sit rather far back which is typical, but then I felt like I was really reaching for the steering wheel. Also didn't feel a ton of support along the full length of my thigh, so my but was taking all the weight. Steering wheel was set as far out as possible. I'm currently in a '13 Tundra platinum and have more than enough room and adjustment. Is it me, or the truck?

I haven't had that problem. My last car I found myself sitting farther back (to avoid hitting my knees on things) and but now there is a lot of leg room up front for me and I am able to move the seat forward more where its comfortable for me to reach the steering wheel. It will probably feel different since you are used to the Tundra which is larger and you probably have more options with the power seat to adjust it.

When I did my first test drive the seating position concerned me compared to my 2010 4Runner. I have now had the truck for a week and the seats are comfortable and are no issue.

Not just you. I am 6'2" and most of my height is in my legs. I do feel as if I am reaching a little for the steering wheel, but I got used to it. I actually find the seats to be quite comfortable. Drove about 2 1/2 hours straight with no issues, and this is coming from someone with back issues from a motorcycle accident.

I'm 5'5", kinda short legs. Commute 3x a week 90km each way, have had the truck almost 3 weeks, total about 3300kms on the Beast so far including an 8+ hour trip from Edmonton to Montana & back last week. Although I do wish it had power seats with memory function for very-different-height drivers, so far I've found the seats quite comfortable for long distance. I'd read the complaints about the Taco's seating position with the short seat cushion / high floor etc. but it actually works out well for me, I can cozy into the seat and ride for hours, hoping it will be equally comfy for my 6'2" SO.

I had 3 Gen 2's and the drivers seat was lousy. Mostly because the back of the seat bottom sunk down and offered little support. The 2016 seems to be much improved. The reviews of the 2016 Tacoma all praise the improved seating position.

How much do you weigh? I like the seat in the Gen 2. If it is massively improved in the Gen 3, all the better. I didn't think the Gen 3 SR5 I drove was that impressive but I did not spend 800 miles in it either. An 11 hour drive is telling.

I weigh 175 lbs. The problem for me with the Gen 2 seat is the depression on the back of the seat bottom. A local upholstery shop did quite a bit of Tacoma seat mods....he'd add padding to build up the depression. I think that the Gen 3 is a big improvement but that's just me.

I have had my 2007 Tacoma for about 6 months now, and at first my 50 minute commute to work didn't bother me. I was just happy to have a truck that got over 20mpg. I am currently in Dallas and new business' are popping up everyday and they have been working on the highways for quite some time. For some reason lately, traffic has been horrible and my commute to work and home is more like an hour and 15 minutes each way.

To make an overly long story short, I purchased the truck from my father-in-law a couple thousand below asking price on the condition that I keep it for at least 2 years until his son is old enough to drive. At first it seemed it like a great offer, but I am 6'2 and the this thigh space isn't going to cut it for another year and a half.

Any idea how I can extend the seat bottom on the cheap? Any particular front seats that are comfortable that will bolt into a Tacoma? I am at the verge of buying an old Lincoln, just for the commute to work. Haha
