I guess this is the complaint dept. So let's hear 'em. In 2015, business etiquette is NOT what it once was. Both sides of the counter just don't give a rat's ass anymore.

    Example today;

We're getting a new washer and dryer.....Both old pieces were ready to be put out to pasture. New one's get delivered and set up FREE! (That word doesn't always mean what it says either) Salesman says they'll call with a "window" for delivery.

"Dear **** ********, your new appliances will be delivered today, between the hours of 8AM and 7:30PM......Thank you......click". Window?..........That's a black hole!

So, on what may be the last sunny, warm day of 2015, I'm stuck here, waiting for them to show up.....Garage is now officially cleaner than it's been since we moved in....

    AND I'M GETTING BORED!

OK. I do in fact, "feel better now".

So what irritates YOU about the way customer service is handled in todays world.

Customer expectations that exceed the realities of business, generally speaking.

I hate customers. I get the frustration with having to wait all day on something. That would drive me nuts. I deal with IT in the CG and the neediness of a lot of the people I support is enough to drive someone with a high level of patience nuts.

I've been on that end too.

There are still things I'd expect to see when I leave a sizable chunk of cash on their table.

I guess the thread should be more inclusive....to include the manners and etiquette, or lack there of, by ALL people in todays "me first" world..

Agreed. I just keep things all relative. Someone who paid twice as much as you did shouldn't get a priority appointment, nor should someone who paid half as much.

All the delivery drivers I've seen have trucks that are too full, pay checks that are too small, and probably have to deal with twice as many irritated customers than any of the sales people who got your item on their truck.

Worse places to be stuck at than in the comfort of your own residence, waiting on a consumer delivery. IMO.

I tend to go out of my way to be nice to people in a CS field. Ive had my fair share of irate "customers" yelling at me for service delays and such.

I worked retail for three years. We tried to under promise/over deliver. When we knew something would take 1 day, maybe 2 tops, we would tell them 3 then when we called a day early to say it was all set they were ecstatic. All about managing expectations.

It is draining, though. Some of the petty complaints just wear on you. And the nasty people that are impossible to please.

I'm guessing by "here" you mean at home...???

    I'll trade you. I'm stuck at work on a nice sunny 70 degree day...on a f'ing Saturday.

That saie, I agree there's little personalized care...my pet peeve is the dame phone tree shit. If they any of them gave a shit about customers they woulndn't try so hard to avoid contact.

The mom and pop shops give the best service. They care because it is their business.
