What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I can definitely try making a simple write-up if you've got a 98-00. If you have an 01-04 there's already a pretty good write up available.

 

I have a 3" flowermaster 44, love the sound and it doesn't sound like a rice burner, it gives it that mean growl

Took it for a drive last night down some local roads and highways. I definitely learned one thing: this truck isn't fond of heavy wind. Especially at highway speeds.

Oh yeah mine whips around in high winds, I used to drive an f250 for work, what a difference all that weight makes.

 

In this image it shows an add relay for the 4x4 without the selector switch. Does any of you guys that has this set up know exactly where it is at.

 

I think it's the only time I've wished a vehicle weighed more. But I'd cry for my gas mileage if a Taco weighed as much as an F250 though.

Speaking of which, how did you manage to only get 150 miles in a tank?

 

I still have a muffler it's just a generic quiet one from a muffler shop.. my truck sounds sort of like a ricer now but not really..idk it definitely has a sound now. Before it didn't make any exhaust noise.

I got the one for the 3RZ and it worked perfect on my 5VZ. Just had to trim this little lip on the stock exhaust pipe where it met the catalytic converter. Sounds perfect. Deep and not too loud. I have Doug Thorley headers, stock piping, and a 18" magnaflow dumped before the axle. No rice. Sounds similar to my cousins 4.0 taco with a URD y pipe and a magnaflow catback.

My commute is only 5 minutes mostly driving slow and frequent stop and go.
