Holy shit I thought it was at rousch... Haha I need to start paying attention

 

Still alive and well, was chatting with JimmyBeamster in another thread and he mentioned that I had helped by citing the rules...

 

Nope Rausch is supposed to be next weekend.. 20-22 but last time I asked no one ever replied to it so I just said fuck it

 

yeah i dont think i can make rausch next weekend. maybe next month or next year.

i'll probably go to southington at the end of the month though

 

Are they ONLY open Friday? I get back to Ohio that night from my family in Texas. Just found out I'll be coming back to Akron that night for wife's H.S. reunion Saturday night. Would love to get to Southington Saturday if it's open.

 

Well work next weekend(including all week), and week after that is Thanksgiving trip south to visit the wife's family.
On that note, count me in for the next month or next year crowd.

Update: Put some MAPP gas on it for almost 30 minutes until it barely started to glow and the rubber inside the shock began to melt and drip. Hit the bolt head with a full-sized sledge and nothing... just proceeded to bend the tab a little worse. Dammit. This bolt is starting to get on my nerves...

So Im considering going ahead and cutting the bolt on both sides of the sleeve to get the strut out. My question is: Can I remove the 2 bolts circled in red, disconnect the sway bar, and lift the whole hub up enough to get to the bolt with a sawzall?

 

Should be able to move it enough without disconnecting the sway bar links. Those links always spin and you'll just make things worse

 

Ive already unbolted the swaybar once when I was trying to do the lift last week; it unbolted easily, so no worries there. Ok, so with those 2 bolts on the bottom of the hub removed and the entire hub assembly pushed up , I am hoping there will be enough room to cut that little devil out!

 

You might need to remove the tie rod also, but you could try those first and see how much movement you can get, but I think you'll have to remove the tie rod also. But yes, those two bolts are the easy way to disconnect the lower ball joint.

Making meets with you guys is gonna be tough with me working weekends, but on a positive note I'm picking up a walking-distance through the week job, so I'm starting on my suspension swap this week! It's been a long time coming I'm super fucking excited.
