I would love if it if this would work on the regular cab. Toyota should have made one and called it a TRD edition before giving it the axe.

Why wouldn't it? The engine bay, to y knowledge, is no different in size them the AC and DC models.

Just a reminder, the Tundra used to get the 1GR in it a few years ago - it also got the 1UR and 3UR at the same time.

    Backwards compatible? Not sure.

It's a complete engine from a wrecker it's got 114,000km on it and I paid $3000, it also was the only engine I could find around here, other wise the closest one was in Prince George and that's a 16 hour drive round trip

The 4.6 v8 in the tundra comes with an a760f transmission which is essentially an a750f with another internal clutch for 6th gear.

They did use a different transmission when it came to the 3ur.fe (5.7L).

Toyota also put the 4.7 in the tacoma to Guage reactions but they were in a city auto show.

In my case I am setting up for June next year. lol
my dream is to be sponsored by Toyota to drive that same unit around the world hitting all 10 of the most dangerous roads.
