Hey everyone my brother just got a new job making verry good money, to us Maine folk anyway. Lol I made more than him now he tripled my Sallery. Lol. Anyway he will be driving around northern Maine looking for students to go to UTI. He was asking about my truck and said he was also looking into raptors. I think he wants to spend around 30k he said maybe a 2013-15 taco or a raptor under 35k. How can I convince him to join the Tacoma family??

If his job is to convince young gear-heads to go to an auto technical school, he's probably better off driving a Raptor.

Go for the raptor, the gas mileage will be better and the frame is less likely to rust.

I'll be 'that guy'. I hate the Raptor, and think it's the biggest waste of money on the road.

If someone gave it to me, I'd sell it immediately.

However, as others have said, it's his money. Also, as someone else also mentioned, if he's pushing kiddos to go to UTI, he's probably better off with a big honkin' Raptor.

I'd steer him towards a f150 and some aftermarket modifications if he's set on a full-size truck.

There ya go! I didn't think about that.

If he's set on full-size, F-150 is a great truck.

The Raptor is a very expensive way to express how tiny your penis is.

As long as he has this if he gets the raptor, he'll be good.

Not sure if this link will work, but this truck would be one hell of a starting point.

    http://shop.ford.com/build/f150/?gn...CCAB.RETAIL.99G.AWD.446.XLT.96L.43V.655.59S.]

    Modifications I'd suggest:

    - ECU tune from livernois Motorsports (bumps numbers up to around 420HP and 440 TQ)
    - One of the many suspension lifts available
    - BFG AT KO2 tires
    - Tons of aftermarket sliders, bumpers, skids, etc available.

The end result would be a truck that fits his needs better than a Raptor, unless a Raptor fits his needs of course, and I'm sure the bottom line would be a lot lower.

    I'd take a Raptor.

I say let him pick what he wants if he's not asking for advice. Otherwise, then you sell him on your likes. And get a bird dog check.

A raptor, to me, has that iconic "sporty" status. If I was making big bucks and could afford a raptor I would. If your brother truly wants a Raptor, let him purchase one OP. You can't really sway a person if they're dead set on something. Sure you can build your own "Raptor", but I'm not sure I would want to waste my time building one if I had the money to purchase it from the factory.

Agreed and agreed haha. Most peeps in here seem to want a lift and tires for "looks" over any function on their daily drivers. Silliness as well.

OP, I'd suggest to him the idea of getting an F-150 or Tacoma to be more practical and if he wants to blow his money on a cool guy truck then let him (hopefully) learn and do his thing.

I like my Tacoma but I drove a hard-as-steel Ranger for 15 plus years (in fact I still own and drive it) so I can't knock Ford. If I had to pick I'd go Raptor.
