    You don't. They are sealed trannys that only need service at 100k miles.

    There isn't a dipstick to check, but a specific procedure and an overflow plug on the bottom. Procedure must be followed preciously to obtain the correct level. Simply pulling the overflow plug without the engine running will result in a loss of fluid.

    I'm curious to hear where this "sealed" designation came from? Why would something with more holes than the previous generation be deemed sealed?:confused:

    just got off the phone with the service dept.SHE told me u dont EVER need to change your auto. tranny fluid because it has (world standard) fluid.i said the book tells u at a 100,000 your to do it.SHE said its up to me if i want it done.but SHE would wait till way after a 100,000 to do it.she had to look up the price cause they dont do many there.$261 dollars for that service.im torn between getting it done now.only have 80,000 on it but i tow and haul shit.giong to investigate this more.got a old school buddy that works for toyota/lexus,see if i can pick his brain.

    you should change your trans fluid at every 30k interval, i change mine every 15k.if you drain and fill, it will only take 3 quarts.AFTER DRAINING,fill to the top of the fill hole,start engine and fill till fluid is level with the bottum of the fill hole.remember,GREASE AND OIL IS A WHOLE LOT CHEAPER THAN MACHINERY..............good luck.

    I have heard of ALOT of people having issues with their trannys after doing it this way. There is a pretty strict proceedure to drain and fill. Temp has to be a certain temp, and it must be filled until it comes out of the "Check" hole in the bottom. As well as run thru the gears in a certain manner.

    Maybe I'm missing something here, but the only mention of replacement of automatic transmission fluid I see according to the maintenance schedule is at 120,000 miles, and this is under items for special operating conditions...driving while towing.

    The owners manual states that under normal conditions the transmission fluid does not have to be changed. if you look in the scheduled maintenance book "special conditions" are defined as driving on dusty roads, towing, or in areas of high heat. i do all of the above so i will be getting mine changed at 15,000

    I'd rather pay to have it changed than to have to argue with some tool at the dealear about getting a tranny swap

    No worries, I was just wondering if there was a discrepancy in manuals or something. Changing the fluid in the auto early, surely wont hurt anything, but all the doccumentation I can dig up puts the service interval at 100k. Im running mine to 100k and Im gonna do some oil samples, and such.
