My whole life I struggled with leg cramps after hunting, especially bird hunting. You shoot birds with your legs the more ground you cover the more birds you shoot. I would wake up in the middle of the night with cramps so bad I couldn't even stand and flop around like a fish. My Ex-wife would usually say something like Tell me again how much fun hunting is? Then be still so I can sleep. The pain was so bad I couldn't even talk.

Tried potassium supplements and several other things but nothing worked. About 6 years ago I purchased a WingWorks vest for the water it holds for the dog and I. Water is heavy and I found myself drinking a lot more than usually to lighten the load. No more cramps. If I drink 2 quarts a day or a quart of water and quart of PoweAide Zero I have yet to have a cramp. I could have sworn I was drinking enough water already but that was not the case. If you do try PowerAide zero be aware that it is high in sodium if that is a concern to you.

^^^ This. Best way to avoid cramps is to drink a lot of fluids. Sometimes it's not enough, but a lot of the time it is.

I just came in from cleaning the yard up again -- I think this will be the last time. I pulled the bagger/blower stuff off the mower, fixed the broken bits, and hung everything in the shed. We also chipped/shredded a giant pile of debris from when we had the bucket lift here and went wild trimming trees, which allowed me to say 'sayonara' to the chipper, pull out the snowblower from the deep-dark-corner of the shed, and stuff the chipper in its place. Ran some gas into the snowblower, figured I'd have to give it a few pulls, just about fell on the ground for how easy it pulled - and it started on the first compression stroke. Gotta love Honda small engines.

I haven't seen it mentioned on these forums and I hope you all don't mind - I don't want to start anything too politically charged - but my heart goes out to the people in Paris. It's unimaginable what happened there.

    X2 on the get together!
Good advice on don't turn down the OT!

YES, a shame what happened in Paris. Just wondering how many more times it has to happen in other countries and here before it's realized how brutal these people are.
It was said "I would bomb the s*** out of them, and shortly afterwards during a discussion it was mentioned; "we can't do that", but they can keep killing innocent civilians in the meantime! :der:

Carl it only has to happen here once but in the correct location. That would be in the US Capitol when it is in full session. Shit will happen quickly than. All other locations in the USA not so much.

The same applies for gun control. Only has to happen once in a joint session and gun control will happen.

As long as it does not affect them congress could care less what happens.

    Morning all:
    X3!

Took the metal detector up in the woods this morning to look for the arrow: FOUND IT!
Not exactly where I expected, but I did manage to find it.!
After searching with the metal detector I just happened to notice it sticking out of a tree. It was app. 7' up and app. 58 yds. away from where I had been sitting. Managed to unscrew the arrow, but the broadhead is still in the tree. Definitely a premature opening of the expanding broadhead.:(
Worse yet, as I was stepping off the app. distance I saw deer going through the brush. When they got to an area where I could tell what they were, there were 4 racked buck chasing a doe! :frusty:
Definitely will be hunting there with the rifle, and probably won't see a thing!

Hope Jim is reading this, he's probably laughing!

    ME----Carl!
Yes, ordered 6 more Excalibur Bolt Cutters, I had them but decided to use the expandables because of the larger cutting area. That decision cost me a buck.

Will add on to this; just found out another guy I worked with, and recently bumped into after not seeing him for quite awhile, bit the dust. Also not found for several weeks, he was 61! RIP Tommy

Hey, where is everybody? Out hunting??? Awfully quiet in here!

I just got back from a 4 day trip to Lost Wages. Had a great time, so much that the wife wants to go back in the spring. I don't feel that way so much, as the crap tables were cold & the damn machines were very tight.

After not going there in 5 years, the Strip has changed a lot. Did a lot of walking checking out the new casinos. Drove downtown, and felt like I was still in Honolulu, so many Hawaiians there as usual. Whenever I go to Vegas, I always run into people that I haven't seen in years.

I've been working my a** off.

Vegas eh. I'm a rube, I admit it; I never flew on a plane until I was in my 30's. I first saw Las Vegas from the window of an airplane that was landing there for a stopover on its way to SFO; I burst out laughing when I saw the place. Never got any closer than the airport, which of course was full of slots. Everything in Nevada has slot machines. If there were still phone booths they would put one in there next to the phone. Strange place.
