Just a bunch of old crap
Knife porn at it's finest right here. Love the inserts for the Pelican cases. Great idea and would solve my storage and organization issues with my collection.

    154CM blade steel?

Benchmade has a history of improper heat treat to 154CM.. usually shows up in their fixed blades when they snap in use, repeatedly. I know a guy who has gone through 4 with regular use (non abusive), all replaced under warranty, but at that point who cares, I don't think he uses it anymore.

I have had the same one in Olive for a few years now. Really like the grip of it. It's my normal EDC unless I'm in slacks or shorts

I ordered some of that CBN emulsion to put on a leather strop. I was curious. I'll get it Monday.

    Anyone ever try it?

Thanks bro! :) one problem with Pelicans tho, especially in humid areas is that they will hold the moisture, so I tell everyone to keep some desiccant packs in their cases ;)

Working on a convex edge to my BK16. It's my general field knife for deer hunting, though I've gone to a cheap stainless Buck that I like a lot as well.

    Nice stuff.

My mom showed me a box of old stuff. In it was a Buck 110. The logo tells me it is a 1960's blade. Brought it home, and sharpened it. First, it huge. Second, it's solid. The "click" at lock is loud and definitive. It honed to a razor. It might make a great deer knife. I like it. Also found an old NIB Buck 119. It's cool, has all the papers, box. Just not my style at all.

What the general consensus here about ELMAX?

I have a bunch of ZT 0560 and 0561 in Elmax, and I like it. Easy to sharpen, but stays sharp pretty long. I think it compares well to D2.

I have a 770CF and really like it. When I first opened the box, I was a little disappointed by the size. However, after carrying it for a while, I've grown to like it. It carries well, is easy to open, and fits well in the hand.

You thought it was too big or too small?

I thought it was too small. But like I said, I've really come to like it and I've been carrying it for a while.
