Got an appointment for tomorrow morning.
The SA said they have to try and duplicate the problem first before they can move forward with the TSB. I'll be pissed if they deny it just b/c they can't duplicate it. The tranny problem has happened to me plenty of times.

I have 1100 miles on a 2010 Prerunner double cab V6 and other than the sometimes strange shifting points/times I don't really have a complaint. Are the 2010's affected? my build month was 9/09 basically 2 months ago to the date. I even towed a 1100 lb. trailer with 122 miles on the clock it did fine. What exactly is suppose to be doing? I feel the drag while coasting and occasionally it will go to 1st gear on a slow turn but quickly shifts up to 2nd on out. I keep it in OD for my commute since it consist of a highway run mostly.

I posted basically page 1 from the TSB which is everything you need to know if your truck is applicable and the basic idea of what is being done. If your dealership is playing dumb or refusing to take 30 minutes and reflash your ECU, find a new dealership. I'm not going to give you the ammo to try to fight them. You're ultimately wasting your time.

You should be able to walk into the service dept say "My transmission is shifting funny." and they take it from there. I had to go to 2 other dealerships before I found the one I go to now but it was definitely worth the leg work.

You do not get one due to the fact that the only thing you provided was a glimmer of hope that promised facts as proof and it was delivered by another member. You had no proof or documentation to back up your claims.

Dude, my 2010 was built the same month as yours. I drove the first 2000 miles and never noticed a problem. I was thinking all these peeps on here were nuts, then my truck started doing the early downshift into first thing as described in here.
Hopefully you wont have any trouble, but mine is so bad my wife asks whats wrong with my brand new truck.

    Hello Everyone -

I've notice this lag on my 2009 DC V6 4x4 sport.
But I got unlucky and bought my truck from a dealership 100 miles from home.
Cash for clunkers zapped the inventory in CA. Does anyone know if i could just go to a closer yota dealer to get my tsb's done?

I have about 700 miles on my 2010 Prerunner and my truck has it. I noticed the first drive home from the dealer. At fisrt, the music was on to test the jbl system and I didn't hear the engine but I felt a delay. The next few days I drove with the music off and every time I tried to accelerate after a slow rolling, the engine just reved but no gear was engaged until a few seconds later. It only happens when you slow down and accelerate quicky within a second or two. If you give it a little more time, it'll shift ok but overall, it's very unnatural. Dumb computer can't make a fast decision whether to stay in first or shift to second, I guess.

Definately... go to any stealership you are comfortable with. I didn't buy either of my vehicles from the place I get the work done.

My truck was purchased in Arizona, I live in New Mexico. You don't have to take to the dealer you bought it from. Take it to any Toyota dealer of your choice. They should not give you any grief.

Can someone who has a copy of the whole TSB copy, scan, and post so we can all see it. I think this has been requested multiple times. Give it up man! I do like the fact that everyone is having good results.

Sure, let me crap out a scanner first and I'll get right on it.

I swear if I could reflash ECUs in my driveway you'd be on here demanding my address. I gave you the resources, do some leg work.

Wow guys, I just called up the dealer here and told them I wanted the tsb done, at first he had some trouble finding it but he eventually did and told me to just bring it in. It was that easy.
