On my 4x4 OR DBLCB, the amber light comes on sometimes when I press the wireless charging switch and place my phone is the charging tray. Using a Nexus 6 phone. Anyone experience same issues or am I doing something wrong? BTW, I am using a thin plastic case for my phone.

May be the case or the placement. Don't just "toss the phone on. Try to place in the middle. The case may be the culprit. I also have a very thin case, like you can barely tell it's on. So I will hopefully find out. Does the nexus have built in qi charging? Or did you have to buy a thin receiver to put on the battery? I had to but a reciever

Yeah, Google was big on wireless charging until the recent release of phones. Nexus 4, 5, and 6 all supported Qi charging. The just announces this year's phones Nexus 5X and 6P, and they did away with the Qi charging. I'm kind of disappointed because one of the reasons I wanted the TRD trim was the Qi charging. Now I may not have a use for it. Reconsidering the SR5.

I have QI on my galaxy S5 and have the same finicky charging issue you do OP. At some point I am going to spend the time to figure out the exact placement and then get some black foam from the craft store to make a template that will make it so that my phone stays in the correct place.. until then I just complain about it not working as it has to be placed "exactly" and then don't hit the gas or brakes or it moves.. ugg

Don't see much benefit in the wireless charging feature if the placement of the phone is so finicky. Another guy said his phone will charge on and off as he takes corners because everytime the phone moves a bit it disconnects then reconnects to the charger. On top of that he gets the annoying chirp noise upon disconnect and again upon reconnect. That would be frustrating to me. Plug a cable in and you avoid those problems.

Sometimes the amber and green light flash when I place my phone on the charge spot, I have yet to figure out why and it doesn't charge when it does it. When it does work though it seems to work fine and doesn't slide around at all.

I think if you pick a phone case with a non-slip surface it could obviously help

yeah I was really looking forward to this feature, but unfortunately Apple doesn't support. I'm considering getting an aftermarket case to enable this function.

Why is this such a hot feature? I can run GPS on my phone for hours without running it dead. And when it does get low, it takes 2 seconds to hook up 12v charger.

I think it's the case. My phones charges without the case but won't with it on.

My Lumia phone was charging the entire 20 minute test drive I did. Didn't disconnect once and I was jerking the car around pretty good. I do have a non-slippery rubberized case on my phone so maybe that's why. I love this feature. The less wires in my car the better.

I just picked up my '16 Tacoma Limited and am having the same issues with my Galaxy S6. Tried it with and without my Speck (thin) case; the amber light comes on, but the actual charging is hit or miss... more miss than hit. Will probably go back to the dealership and try another truck on the lot to see if it does the same thing.

As nice as it is to just put your phone on the pad and let it charge, the ol' fashioned plug method still works just fine.

I returned a Note 5 because it didn't charge. Bought the S6 instead and it does well with a Spigen case.

Did you get the S6? S6 Edge? S6+, etc? Just curious to see if different models are behaving differently.
