This past week has been really busy for me as I received my Frontrunner roof rack with numerous attachments and also received my Foxwing awning and tent. Took them out camping last night at Mammoth Cave and setup was very easy and everything seems like good quality products.

For those wanting to order the Frontrunner roof rack I don't recommend buying the expedition rail kit which is nothing more than raised rails around the sides. They are a PITA when installing other attachments like the shower arm, hi lift mounts, awning, etc. In fact the shower arm won't work with the rail kit so I had to change it to a front/rear rail system so there is no rail on the side center area where I set up the shower arm. Rails aren't really needed since the rack does have a small lip built in the the stock platform. I love the double jerry can holder as it secures the caps and is lockable to prevent tampering.

The foxwing awning is awesome! So easy to setup and covers such a large area. I decided to also purchase the Tagalong tent which zips up to any of the foxwing sides of the awning. One thing to note is that the Tagalong is not a stand alone tent as it must be attached to another product made by Oz Tent or Foxwing.

Wind noise isn't too bad except for speeds around 40-45 where the wind creates an irritating vibration/squeal above the drivers seat. Any speed below/above this has minimal/typical wind noise. I will probably tinker with the wind deflector next week to see if that helps.

Gas mileage was not very good as I averaged just over 16 MPG. On my trip I had 5 occupants in the cab, about 200 pounds above the cab, 400 pounds in the bed, and a bike carrier that weighs about 150 pounds with the four bikes loaded up. But it wasn't the weight as much as it was all the added drag of the rack, awning, and the bikes.

You can get a bed cover and steps for the price you'll get the predator steps from the dealer.

So can this all be mounted on the roof rack alone? I couldn't tell if you have anything in the bed of your truck - like a frame or partial cage to help prop up all those components. By the way, everything looks great!

Installed Black Rhino Mint wheels 17x9 with Toyo Open Country AT2 265/70/17. Makes all the difference in the ride.

I figured I'd give PlastDip a try. Left the chrome ring, but I'm still on the fence about it...e33f82b79607064fec6c1b1d8e20ea07_492a0a32baee19b7db42fe9642051b6780ea7d9d.jpg
