small door ding removal?

so someone opened their door and put a dime sized ding in my driver side door. pretty small but still obvious to me of course.

anyone know the best way to get this out? like removing doorpanel and pushing from the inside?

ive had a dooor ding guy come before but this one is super small so i would rather not spend 50$ on it.

 

If it was my truck Id pay the professional. You dont want to mess it up anymore then it already is.

 

Pay the professional to get it out. Line up multiple cars in your neighborhood and tell him I have lots of people what discount rate can you give us?

 

I've got one that size too. Bummer is that it did more damage to the paint, taking about a 1'' line with it. I touched up the paint as best I could but that ding still bothers me. Sliders on the way!

Get a paintless dent removal gut to do it. Or get some dry ice and that can sometime get it out.

 

Paintless dentless is the way to go. My neighbor kid hit my wife's car with a yoyo, he was throwing it at his friend and missed. Nice ding by the back window. My son is the IT guy at Honda in Anaheim and took it to work with him, the ding is completely gone, you can not see it at all. I could not believe it. He used the guy that does all their used cars. Took him about thirty min.

 

yea but the thing is this dent is seriously so small... like ridiculous ive had small ones before. but this is even smaller seems like there has to be another way?

PDR is pretty tough; if you try to do it yourself you probably will make a bunch of high spots and make it look alot worse.

I'd say wait a while till a few more accumulate and then give the pro a call.

I don't have a picture of it removed, but take my word for it it's gone.
I got it done for $40.00, as I said my son works for the dealer. The PDR guy said his price is from $60. and up. I would have paid $100. maybe more to have that one ding removed but I am anal about my car and truck.

 

You could try to do the PDR yourself. I understand there's a bit of an art to it but basically they just massage the dent from the inside with spoon-like tools.

 

cant you remove small dents with dry ice. doesnt it make the metal particles contract due to the coldness then when they come together they pop the dent out?
