So I finally made the leap to the 2015 4x4 TRD-Offroad from my 2013 PreRunner! Thanks to some convincing by my neighbor @Mademan925 and the others on TW. Now I feel like it's time for a build page. Although I have a long way to go in my build you got to start somewhere.

With a huge thanks to @Mademan925 for helping me out under the truck and teaching me all about the 2nd Gen. Tacoma, the hours of work on the truck, and wheeling.

    And here we go...

@redtacoma88 The Ayer tent is pretty awesome. Holds up well and keeps the heat in which is nice on those chilly nights. Btw your build looks pretty awesome. What was your lead time to get all the stuff from Brute Force Fab?

Good to hear! Yeah thanks man! The bumpers took I think 6-8 weeks.. thats a guess though I dont remember. Billy was great to deal with, I kept his number and called him every once and a while to check in, he picked up every time and kept me up to date! The bumpers have held up great without a single issue!

Nice, sounds like he's got good customer service than. Good to know.

I'm debating back and fourth between a couple companies. Brute Force, Pelfreybilt, and Relentless. What made you choose the BFF?

Yeah ain't that the truth. I just don't know what I want to do next. Possibly the front bumper since I have the 700lb coils or exhaust reroute since that is the lowest portion of the truck right now...

Nice looking truck! I'll be mounting my CB hardware soon. Mines going to end up going onto my Track Rack system most likely. I also got a quick disconnect coupler for the antenna so that I can take it off easily when not in use. Have a local retired guy that's a CB radio pro helping me out with parts and advice.

How did you mount your radio in the cab?

I'm just using a hand held transceiver right now, but you can actually order a headunit the fits inbetween your drivers seat and the center console if you don't want it to be permanent. Still looking and debating a permanent place myself.

I've already got a bracket system. And it's not the stock rack, it's the Trac Rack bed rack. And it's aluminum, so I'll be running a ground down to the frame. The guy I got some of my parts from said it's best not to run a cable as the ground, but use ground straps. If you run a cable, the truck body can become part of the antenna. So I'll be running a ground strap (hidden inside the aluminum frame of the rack system) down to my frame.

I haven't figured out where I'm going to place my radio either. But then again, I haven't really tried fitting it anywhere yet. I'm still debating between the handheld unit or a permanent unit.

It's going to be one of the following:

@Killbuzzjrad The Bedbars have been pretty sweet and versatile. Good for hauling around heavy things like the Tepui tent. I'm very satisfied with the product so far and its nice to keep things lower than the cab for wind purposes. Hi Lift mount is a good option too it'll keep it up and out of the bed so you can fit other things.

@Elevated I am using the midland one right now, but I will eventually get a headunit. I would just go for the headunit all together. The midland has a fuse in it that can blow sometimes.
