I would assume around the the max weight, assuming the ramp isn't wet and slippery. But, that's speculation as I don't tow with my Taco. Not sure how the Marinas are where you are, but here they provide ramp service for a small fee.. trucks specifically set up to drop/retrieve boats for people who don't feel like dealing with it.

Ok, boat is what..29ft ? Add 6ft for the trailer, now looking at 35' +/- , & you say roughly 14000 lbs ? It's doable, but it's going to suck ballz in 4lo on pavement/concrete/ any other hard packed surface, & if this is going to be a regular thing (sounds like it ) the single best thing you can do is either rebuild or replace the OEM springs, it's the saggy ass'd rear suspension that makes the whole towing experience with a Tacoma the nightmarish bitch it can become, too fucking soft to have that much weight behind you , pushing you wherever the fuck it wants too...

    1) Rent a Home Depot truck.

    2) Rent an actual truck from a moving company.

    3) Call a towing company and see what they would charge to move your truck.

There are many options, but I don't recommend taking a chance and hurting your truck. Even if a tow company wants a hundred or two, that's good peace of mind for me knowing that my $30k truck is safe.

3500lbs would smash the bumper to the ground breaking the shit rear springs. Anything over 1000lbs on the bumper is asking for trouble and breakage.

The tong weight on that trailer if it's properly loaded is going to be over 1600# that is going to be the limiting factor right there.

Please video if you do!!! I used to haul the same size boat begrudgingly for my dad in a full size dodge. Was not pretty with the rear end squatting. His weighed a little closer to 9k.

Nope, no way, don't do it. I tow a 4500 lb boat regularly. I pu it in 4 lo when I get it straight and head down the ramp. The first time I towed with it (downsized from gas f250) was on a slick ramp where the tide was out. I tried to stop and the rig went an additional foot or two before it did. Only a foot or two, but I had flashes of being a Uboat captain. You have no safety margin and will end up on YouTube. Tough truck but way too much weight.

I'm new there and I can't at this time ask anyone I know...they don't have a useful truck for me. I'm still working on the marina. I'll ask about pulling it out and putting it in. I'm not aware of that service there but I'll ask.

Not steep, tides only 3 feet there, not slippery at all. Just have to address the tongue problem and mostly worried about the tranny. I'm looking at alternatives including a smaller boat. Again, I'm listening to the advice here and have gotten good info that has affected my decisions.

    You are welcome.

I hope the constructive part was that you learned it is not a good idea to tow 10000 pounds up and down an incline with a Tacoma, especially when gear failure might mean vehicle submersion.

If you didn't have way too much tongue weight I'd say go for it. But that is way to heavy even for most 1/2 tons. Hell if the tongue weight was lower I'd certainly try pulling it with my baby 4cyl.

2015 truck is maybe little too new for this, and 10 000 -12 000 is probably the way upper limit what that truck can do with V6.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/tacoma-on-the-farm.41981/#post-706942

Now it will probably pull that if traction is there, but I don't think you should expect for transmission to last or your rear differential. Toyota uses that crush sleve in pinion so when you put super crazy load on the diff it will just compress it and add more backlash especially on the truck with 3.73 gears. Now if you had 4.10 and manual transmission I would say try it.
Also if you have TRD OR you are very likely to break rear diff.

A Tundra pulled a space shuttle, surely a Tacoma will pull a boat. What could possibly go wrong? :anonymous:

just got a simple lift on her
thats what i was thinking.... until i saw the 3500 lb tongue weight....

im pretty crazy, and to only tow it 200 yards... why the hell not? you dont have to go over 1mph. when you get to the dock throw er in 4 lo, and take it slow....

call me crazy, but me and my grandpa have towed his giant ass boat in mexico with a tiny truck. never going over 5mph.
