Mine looks different than post 10, but lower right hand side is a physical button. Think it's called setup. (It's windy as hell outside here and wife's car gets the garage tonight so yah, being lazy)
On second page think it's called system info. That will tell you version as well as other info.
I can take pic tomorrow if needed.

Ok, I see a part of the problem. You're running a 2nd Gen, right? This is a 3rd Gen thread. Hence, some of the confusion!

Yeah, that would do it. Doubt third gen has had any substantial updates.

    Sorry guys, my bad

Not sure if this was mentioned, couldn't find it in the thread but from what I understand there's no subscription required for the GPS until 2024.

    http://www.topspeed.com/trucks/truck-reviews/toyota/2016-toyota-tacomafirst-drive-ar170753.html

    From the above link:
The system now offers Scout GPS Link. Basically the app works by linking the GPS function of a cell phone with the in-dash head unit. It includes voice-activated searching, traffic alerts, nearby gas prices, and turn-by-turn navigation. Best of all, it’s subscription-free until 2024.

Looking further into it I'm not entirely sure what this all means. what is the Scout GPS link? From the Toyota link below you need to set this app up with your phone.

    http://www.toyota.com/content/entune/pdf/Scout_GPS_Link.pdf

I'm going to download this app and see what it does tomorrow!

    EDIT:
Apparently this app is not available in Canada.

if I am correct, the old units require a cd to update the maps compared to the new units which use a SD card.

Anyone know if you can adjust the volume on the NAV, searched here didn't see anything.

When the directions start being spoken by the system, the radio keeps playing and I'm only hearing
NAV instruction from MY door speaker, all other speakers still have the radio coming out of them.

thats some BS that they make you pay for maps. My wifes CX-5 has the sd card and updated maps are free and you can do it yourself. Simply go to the website, download the new map. Put it on the card and put it in the card.

Still waiting for my truck. Do the maps include all of US and Canada or just US or just Canada?

Sorry nodak, but I didn't spend 40 grand on a brand new truck with a beautifully integrated screen system so I could suction cup an ugly ass Garmin onto the dash...lol

no, you paid 40k for a nav system that is already out of date for maps, and you have to keep paying for updates.

Tied the game, 1 - 1. I suspect Toyota will end up making them free. Competition being what it is.

Luckily, that Nav system had a nice truck attached.

That's a really good question. I honestly don't know! However, it probably doesn't matter. I picked up mine a few hundred miles from my house. I programmed in my home address. As soon as the Nav spoke, I knew I had to turn it down immediately! It was crazy loud! Sounded like it was coming from inside by head!
