Put some kind of trolly under the tongue of the trailer that can swivel, support the weight. pull away. Take pics, right.

The highest rated tongue weight of any rear pull hitch is a class 5, it's rated at 18,000 lbs towing with a tongue weight of 1800 lbs.

For what is worth, I pulled a car hauler with 8000lbs of sheetrock on it across town with my Taco. Probably a 10,500lb load. NOT SUGGESTED!!! If you are only going to launch the boat I wouldn't worry one bit, but I don't think I'd retrieve with it.

I didn't read every post here, but 14000 seems a bit much for our trucks. My f150 was only rated at 12000 with the tow pkg. now don't get me wrong, you could probably move it pretty well with the Tacoma, but can you stop it?

Its this. I would say the tongue weight is in the 1000-1400 pound range. There is no way its 3500 pounds. It would have to use a fifth wheel for that kind of weight.
Also, for something this heavy and large, it has a weight distribution hitch like travel trailers. That will help distribute the weight to the tow vehicle chassis and not the rear of the vehicle.
As long as the truck doesn't bottom out when you put the weight on, I would think you should be okay for 200 yards. Take it easy and I doubt it would even break anything.

With electric trailer brakes how would that happen? And I've never seen a new transmission fail abruptly like that esp if you back off if it's not towing it up. The ramp is very small as the tides are only 3 ft. It isn't steep. So not only are you wrong in what you said here but your sarcasm isn't going to be appreciated by anyone. Yours was the only insulting comment out of all the responders.

Next time keep your snarky comments to yourself, please.

Not worried about that but it may fail to pull it out, which I doubt, but if it did then I'd tie the ramp up until someone towed both the truck and boat out. Not an optimal option. Very embarrassing.

I've decided to follow all the great advice and not risk it even though I think it'd work just fine. Not worth the risk IMO.

Thanks for all the responses people.

Yeah I was off on the tongue weight although I'd have to have the right trailer. I could also use assist lifts on the rear. I agree. I think it'll do that over a short distance but I've decided for the time being not to even transport a boat out there now until I gather more information. I like being safe. Thanks for the response.

Pull with the truck and stop with the trailer.

Sounds like you made the right decision. Couldn't you just ask another guy who is launching to hook up to your trailer get the boat and move it?

I am sure the Tacoma would do it but you are asking a lot out of that truck. I would be mostly concerned with the tongue weight. Not sure how you would get the boat tongue off the ground if something broke. Not sure you would need 4wd either you could be looking at the sky....:bikewheelie:

I only read few replies, so, forgive me if this sounds repetitive.
    a) DO not do this. 3500 LBS on hitch will get your front wheel off the ground.
    b) I cannot even recommend that you rent Pensky or Uhual because this is too much tongue weight.
    c) You can however rent a Pensky or Sunbelt with pin tail hook( you need commercial lic for this). Pin tails are designed to pull 20 ton trailers.
    d) call in wrecker and they will get this done for couple of hundred bucks.

Great idea. I'm going to talk to the marina and see what can be done.

The tongue weight I quoted is wrong. It's more like a 1000 which can be adjusted. I spoke with someone who does this but I'm not going to unless I see more than a few do it over a long period of time without consequences. I'd have never asked if it weren't going a 100 yds or so. Still I'm trying to make other plans including going to a smaller boat.

Again thank for all the help people.

Apologize you took it that way. In addition, I have reconsidered my position and think you should go for it.

@kuffer14 would plasti-dip the boat first.

    And the trailer.
