Mobtown Offroad Bolt On Tailgate Reinforcement Plate for 2005-2015 Tacoma

For people that use their truck as a truck and want something even stronger than the flimsy plastic skin on the tailgate but still retain a fairly stock look, here is your solution, the Mobtown Offroad Tailgate Reinforcement Plate.

The plate is made from 14 gauge CNC laser cut steel, then powder coated in textured black. This skin has embossed reinforcement ribs for added strength across the tailgate. You simply unbolt the OEM plastic skin and tailgate cap, slide this in place under the tailgate cap and bolt back down using the factory hardware. The skin does fit under the factory plastic skin if you want to continue to use that but get added strength. (Minor trimming required on plastic skin)

You also have the option to replace the cheap plastic clips in the tailgate with steel inserts and hardware, minor drilling required.

I might be looking for one of these.... Toyota is fixing a couple of broken tabs in my tailgate right now that put an outward facing crease in the gate. Now that it will be fixed I'm looking at how to prevent it from happening again lol.

Any details on what kind of trimming is needed on the plastic?

Doing great! Loaded the motorcycle several times without any worries of damaging the tailgate.

I completely understand that and understand basic entrepreneurial principles, to be fancy, but speaking for myself if I had a vendor tell me right now this/ these companies are running a sale and I can save a few bucks that'd be fantastic. if within your relationship with them you get paid the same, and you throw us a bone, in my eyes you create a loyal customer base, build trust and get great word of mouth advertising which is invaluable. Yeah why would 5% stress me out. I thought we were on here to collectively pool our know and resources to know and the the most out of our vehicles. I probably could've worded that slightly different to get my point across but if it was cheaper somewhere else I figured you guys would want to know
