I got pulled over in Atlanta in 1988 for NOT doing 85 in a 55 and warned not to be an obstruction to traffic. I was 19 and my mom was stressed about my doing 60 while our doors were getting blown off left and right. Cop was cool, told me to "just stay out of their way" and didn't give me a ticket. I picked it up to 75 and stayed right.

WTF kind of town was Atlanta in '88 where the cops just let everyone haul ass like that?!?

I got pulled over on I5 in sacramento, ca for going 5mph over the speed limit and backing up traffic that was easily going WAY over. I'd have to say "yes". However, I didn't get a ticket, just told me to "go with the flow so you (me,i) don't cause a wreck".

Atlanta is still the same to this day. Birmingham, likewise. If you aren't going 90, you are causing a potential safety hazard/wreck. Rolling through B'ham, I was getting passed by state troopers and I was rolling 85
