I understand and agree with you... I just think a lot of people (myself included) were holding their breath and crossing their fingers for something that we all knew all along we weren't going to get, which was a radically different vehicle. One capable of just turning on ATRAC and driving straight up that bitch that is the Empire State Building while getting 35 mpg IN TOWN.

I've got nothing against the new Tacoma at all, just can't call it all new, it's not. No big deal, wish my '15 had some of the stuff in the new truck, just not the engine or trans.

This^ If I could get the new interior, tech package, projector headlights, crawl control, tailgate in my 2015 I'd throw down $38k no problem, but in 2 attempts now of test driving and looking I have yet to want to trade up, with good deals on the table too, just cant get past the bloated panels and front end, the engine seemed fine, a bit noisy, couldnt comment on the transmission as I didnt drive it long enough.

Just new enough, that Toyota can use the marketing opportunity to jack the cost on each trim level by a few Grand, to sell a new-shiney to all of the cool kids.

Oldest marketing ploy in the automotive book.

New enough for me to blow another $6000 over my 15 TRD Sport....to get the 16. Money well spent and $3000 of that in upgrades and improvements I did not have on my 15.

More than worth it. What I don't understand is the shear numbers of 2nd Gen owners in this section bloviating their distaste for the product. It must be really popular...or they are a tad jelly?

In todays world. If it's not yours, it sucks.
If the truck is good for you, then it doesn't matter what other people say or think.
