    So this is going to sound stupid but ive=had my truck for like 4 yrs and i have no idea what the etc button does....IVE NEVER USED IT!! its an 04 limited dcab 2wd trd package

    electronic controlled tranny or something like that

    changes the shift points for towing purposes

    are they pre set shifts points? why would you need to change them?

    Now I fear that I sound like the stupid one but... I have the auto with tow package and I have never seen this button. Where the heck is it if I were to have one?

    yeah theyre pre set shift points

    it allows your truck to rev a little higher prior to shifting to squeeze a little more torque out so you have more pulling power when towing
