2016 tailgate fit on a 2015?

Dose anyone kno if the 2016 tacoma tailgate would fit on a 2015 tacoma that's the only thing I like about the 2016 is the tailgate

 

I don't believe so. the 2016 tacoma has the rotary compression to keep it from falling down and breaking anything. I believe that's integrated into the bed side. I could be wrong, just thought and speculation. If you'd like I can measure the length of mine.

It's 56" long. Also you have to keep in mind that the locking mechanism on the tailgate wouldn't work in any other bodystyle

 

Nope, it doesn't. I tried swapping team out already and it doesn't even line up

 

Dang ok woulda really liked to have a 2016 style tailgate

 

Too funny... It's about the only thing I like on the 3rd gen as well.


Hey, what if you took your current tailgate to a custom body shop and had them do the embossing like the 2016 has?

 

That may work but your right tailgate is only good thing about the 2016's
