It really isn't hard to drive right onto the road. I could have driven on where I walked on from but like I said, too many people and too much risk.

 

I really just want to go for the pictures... I've been slacking on photography lately, and one of my first classes back in college is intro to photography.. (comical because I am a wedding photographer, and based on the description its the same exact class as I took in 12th grade)

 

My sister in law works for a pro Wedding Photographer - she's pretty cool. Unreal what they make! $$$

 

I'm out that way every other week ! Monday before thanksgiving I might check it out!

 

My cousin is a pro photographer and I nearly shit when she told me what she charges for a wedding!

 

My gf has a photo business as a hobby right now so she charges only like $200 for a wedding. Which is about $1000 less than average haha it's nuts

 

My sister-in-laws boss is $12,000.00 starting cost. I shit you not.

 

Amen. I got married last November. All I see when I look at our pictures is truck parts that I don't have.

$1200?! That's a steal. Ours were quadruple that.

 

I recall something like $1800 for my wedding but that was like 13 years ago.
I do remember passing on one company that wanted $3600

 

Jesus shit...they know it's pictures right? Do they strip and dance too? Where does the money go!?

Jesus way over priced. A good photographer should cost max 2-3k.

 

I'll say this: she takes amazing pics. They travel often to go to these weddings. She went to Greece & India last year but mostly in NY, Philly & Chicago I think.

 

Ah makes sense, traveling photographers definitely make more. Luckily my wife worked in the industry so we got wedding/engagement photos for just over a grand I think and that was with a second shooter. And our photo's came out incredible.

 

I agree, but I think she's at the Apex of her career category. She's written books and done instructional webcasts on the topic.
She's a super nice person too - has become a close family friend.

 

Oh yeah that kind of experience is worth the $$$. You become almost like a celebrity in the industry.

Only regret was no videographer, at least for the best man's speech and my father in law's speech. All I can say is I'm glad it's all over. So much money spent for such a fast night but all my family and friends rave about how much fun they had so I'm happy with it.

 

All these just make me not want to ever get married..........

 

Sad that you had to spend the money you did and not get the product you wanted. Great that you have the raw footage though! Definitely can do a lot with that.

 

I'd like to edit in some kind of lightsaber duel into my wedding vids...
