Has anyone mounted the 255/80R17's on a 9" wheel? On Coopers website, the approved rim size is 6.5"-8.5" and I am wanting to mount them on a set of 9" wheels and just wondering if anyone else had done it. Thanks.

Bwouldnt go over what the factory recommends. Can't you just get 8" rims instead?

    I haven't actually measured. The rims I've ordered are level8 bully pro 8L's. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1447781253.463758.jpg

The wheels are listed as 17X9.

    I wouldn't run a 255 on a 9" wheel.

255/85r16 ST Maxx. Had to remove front mud flaps and those weird flaps on the front edge of the wheel well. 0 offset 8 inch wide scs wheels. The wheels stick out Just slightly beyond the fender, right where I want them to be

Just put some 255/85/16s on. Love them so far! I don't need 4x4 to go places in the snow anymore!

I do have a question though. Are these directional? I didn't pay any attention when I was installing them but noticed that I don't have them all installed the same way. I've noticed in some of the pictures here that some are facing one way and the others opposite. Just wondering if it matters?

I installed my 255/80/17s a few days ago and Im pulling to the right. 3 alignments later (two at RadAir and latest at Toyota dealer) and she still pulls right the exact same. Swapped all 4 tires to the right front and nothing changes. My alignment specs were beautiful. Ive been reading that some people complain of the Cooper ST Maxx pulling right due to it's directional tread. Anybody else suffering a similar fate as me? The service manager at Toyota was really a nice guy, didnt charge me for the alignment, and offered to swap out a pair of stock tires and wheels to see if that stops the pull, but I had to schedule it for Tuesday of next week.

Mine pulls very slightly to the right as well even after good alignment.

Mine do it too. When I have the road tires it pulls left pretty hard instead but otherwise its only a slight right pull with the coops on

First I've heard of this. I do a fair amount of highway, so that kinda sucks.

I have the same right pull on my truck, not terrible but its definitely there. I've had it aligned three or four times now and the shop can never figure it out. Alignment specs are spot on. The tread bias makes sense though, I've never thought of that.

nope, there's nothing on the tire sidewall that shows direction of rotation, and even if you flip them around, the tread pattern still points the same way... :(

The sidewalls don't point the same way though. I guess that is just preference. :notsure:

I drive a lot of highway too. It's really not bad at all, but it is there none the less. Not nearly enough to stop me from getting another set.
