Got an offer on Saturday to order a 2016 DCSB OR 4x4 with tow and premium tech non-JBL package for $400 over invoice. With my soon-to-be college grad discount I would get the truck for $350 under invoice. After ttt and dealer fees $38,800 otd. I don't think I will find a better deal but I couldn't pull the trigger to order. Location is TN

None yet. Vehicle on order. Due around Halloween 2016
Best quote I have received thus far. However I am going to have to scrap the Prem & Tech Pkg.
    $37,350 OTD

Prem & Tech Pkg - no JBL

why does a vehicle suck without a moonroof?
It sucks for me with the moonroof. I am too tall to fit in the truck with it. Toyota dropped the ball on adding the moonroof and not redesigning the cab to accommodate this feature. At the very least if you get the Prem & Tech Pkg the front seats should be height adjustable.

I agree. I am 5'11'' and I just barely fit in my 3rd gen with moonroof. My head touches the roof a tiny bit. I can see where anyone 6'0'' or taller would have issues.
A height adjustable seat would be nice.

The moonroof should be a discrete option. And it should be an option for all models.

Whew...that's a lot of math! Could it be that the dealer quoted $1000 over invoice before options? Might get some clarification. Why not just go for $1500 off MSRP and call it good? Looks like your asking for $2500 off MSRP. IMO, don't know that any dealer would do that deal is this market. Good luck with your purchase:)

Hey @scooter1972, I'm showing that my "vehicle price" was $36,363 and they took a certain amount off for "savings." I didn't really care how they got to my OTD price, I just wanted to make sure the OTD price was in my budget.

here is my latest dealing with a dealership, read from bottom first, i deleted all the time and address info.....basically he started at msrp, then 1000 off, i countered with about 2k off, he passed(it is the only quicksand i 300 miles).....2k off was invoice+tda+delivery etc.+installed options......ive got another dealer holding strong at about 1200 off a TRD sport 4x4 dcsb

    Scott,

Thank you for your offer but we will have to pass. Let me know if you change your mind on the price quote.

Sorry for not responding sooner, had to get back to work...Ive already driven a few, and im in dallas...I would be willing to do $34,600

    Scott,

Got it.. Well we would love to do business with you! Would you like to set up a time to come in and take the truck for a spin?

just trying to get the best price, which will give me the lowest payment..lots of dealers around and they all do business in a different manner.....Scott

    Scott,

The residual value is from the Tacoma you inquired about. What are you overall trying to accomplish? Is it a certain payment or is it a price?

ok great, thanks, is that based on this particular truck or just a number? i was looking for a % of MSRP, or something similar....i would assume different levels of tacomas would have different residuals...Scott

    Scott,

The residual value on the Tacoma for a 36 month 15k mile a year lease is 25,698.00. On a 36 month 12k mile lease would be 26,432.00.

I was thinking closer to 34k, your correct not many in quicksand. and what is your residual % on a 36 month lease?

    Scott,

We are supposed to price these at MSRP since there's not many out there but given that we have one in stock my manager is willing to sell it for 900 dollars over invoice.

    Your price: 35,792.00 plus TTL
    Dealer MSRP
    Mfg Base Price: $30,237.00 $33,730.00
    Total Factory Options: $559.00 $650.00
    Total Locally Installed: $954.44 $1,381.00
    Dealer Added Options: $0.00 $0.00
    T.A.F.: $0.00
    T.M.F.: $1,028.00
    Delivery/Processing/Handling: $950.00 $950.00
    Base Vehicle Holdback: $688.00
    PIO Holdback: $132.05
    Fleet Price Protection: $0.00
    Financial Reserve MSRP: $344.00
    Fleet Credit: $0.00
    Pricing Totals: $34,892.49 $36,711.00

If you think im paying MSRP then you are mistaken, plenty of deals to be had at $500-$750 over invoice.....If thats what youre selling then i guess I'll look elsewhere.

My advice is to get on Toyota's web site and ensure you know what MSRP is for your desired model and what MSRP is for each option package (there aren't that many). Then you can work down from MSRP. If you try to work from "dealer invoice", it gives crappy dealer a chance to add all kinds of arbitrary fees as you have experienced; PIO holdback, MSRP reserve, ...WTH!! For what it's worth, good luck:)

WE FOUND ONE THAT IS ALLOCATED TO A DEALER!! WE GOT IT!!

So my wife is getting tired of hearing about the potential truck and calling so many dealers just to find bullshit from them trying to get us to enter their property. She was on the phone on her prep period today and decided to chat with the internet department at Toyota of the Desert, in Cathedral City. She's had some wild hair thoughts about this place for the last month and kept saying, "Maybe they have trucks int he desert. Maybe they'll have them out there." I wrote it off as she just thinking of where she grew up too much. She started chatting with them while on her phone call and the internet dept offered 500 under msrp. They said we may have better luck if we come in to speak with them in person.

My wife and I work across the street from each other so she called and asked if I wanted to go out there tonight. We left school at 3:20 and arrived there around 6:15. Traffic goes that way and it was 100 mile drive. We got there and I the internet department dealt with us. I have never had the internet department act as sales people before. Usually they are just there to get you in the door and then hand you off to a sales person. We dealt with the internet sales lady and her manager. I thought this was strange. They offered us 500 under msrp, we countered about a 1000 under/over because they pretty much match. They said we can only do 500 under and we won't charge you the TDA fee. I don't know if they usually do or don't, but I wasn't planning on paying them to advertise. My wife and I spoke, we talked to them about my trade in, which is a piece of shit that will sit on Craigslist for a few months and probably not sell for 1000 dollars. They will give us 500 to 700. We didn't drive it there so they will assess when we get there.

So, to rationalize our purchase, my wife starts talking about the difference between this and the Merced or Sunnyvale deal. We would have saved 700-800 dollars. We would have to driver her car up there so both names are on the paperwork, get a room for the night, food, other crap, and drive the truck home. We estimated that would cost us around 400 bucks to make it worth our time. Then there is the prospect of not getting a truck for 6 months. My wife really wants this truck shit done with but she put up a good fight in the dealership.

We agreed to a final vehicle price of 35,689 for
7568 DCLB OR V6 4x4 (very rare build in this region)
    Super White
    Tow Package
    Carpet Floor Mats
    Exhaust Tip

They used a similar truck to get a final OTD price, it was DCSB 4x4 OR they had on the lot
    370 registration and title
    9 govt fee
    80 document fee
    3212 LA County Tax

    39358 OTD
    less 500 deposit
    less 500-600 trade in value
so about 38400 to drive off the lot.

We have more than half of this saved and the rest is being funded by Schools First Credit Union at 1.42% for 60 months. A few weeks ago, they gave me a 60 day authorization which will probably run out before the truck arrives. I will go back to get new credit authorization a few days before it comes in. They also do cheap refinancing work, as well. We got our car interest rate taken down a point to 1.6%.

It's a shit load of money but it's only 700-800 more than we would pay to wait, wait, wait, and more wait. They actually have this vehicle allocated to them. It was exactly what I wanted except for the stupid exhaust tip....

I have to thank @HalfWayThere for his continued support when trying to get me a deal in Sunnyvale. He actually made them feel so bad that they offered me his sweet deal. I am thankful for the chats we had about who was doing what, where, and to who.

I still have no idea why my wife called Toyota of the Desert. They just happened to have the one we wanted not already sold. They also had a 7568 with the same specs on hold for someone in Silver. I find it crazy that they were allocated 2 of the most rare build. There are only 15 7568-non-FP coming into this region each month. How many of those are white?

Toyota of the Desert in Cathedral City will do MSRP if you walk onto the lot and will do 500 under MSRP if you email their internet department. They told me to tell you guys.

probably for trucks on the lot. You will not find a 7568 on any lot for 6 months or more, maybe. At 15 a month, the 7568-non-FP is rare
