Came across this old picture. How things change! Definately not the truck it used to be. Especially when your pushing as much hp as a stock v8 mustang.

Yeah man no doubt... That's crazy. I beat the $#€+ out of an old firebird the other day... and was neck to neck with some modern Audi car. Both guys were goin slow in the fast lane so I put it to the floor and went around on the right side. Both guys floored it (different days) and I passed the firebird but I was right next to that Audi for a good 5 seconds before I came up to another car on the right lane. I can't even fathom the power of our trucks at twice the PSI that I'm runnin lol!!!!! Farm truck anybody?

You sound like someone that drives angry.

Who was that comedian? Everyone that drives slower than you is a moron and everyone that drives faster than you is a maniac!

Lol no idk who that is. Not very angry but I do find myself a wee flustered when it's rush hour and the guy in front of me in the left lane has a 15 car gap in between him/her and the car in front of him/her and they are going 5-10 mph less than the speed limit. I'm sure there would be a lot less traffic if everyone maintained that 2 second distance from the car in front of them... but what evs. It gives me an opportunity to use that turbo :D

I keep a small distance between me and the car in front of me to lessen the "accordion affect" you get in heavy traffic. I don't understand why you have to be so close that you have to react to every speed change the car in front of you makes :notsure:

I can't find the stand-up clip but it was pretty good.

Yup, that's why they switched from teaching people to be 1 car length away from the car in front for every 10 mph to being 2 seconds behind the car in front of you regardless of speed to minimize that accordion effect and not cause traffic to be worse by having a gigantic/ tiny gap in front of you.

I watch the lights ahead. Sometimes I'm the guy with a huge gap in front of me. Only because I can see the light ahead will be red so I'm in no hurry to only have to stop at a red light. Typically I drive with patience, and in no hurry. I think we all get pissed in traffic from time to time.

yeah no point in wasting gas speeding just to stop at a the red light lol.
So Josh is the beast running good now? Any fuel trim/ECU learning issues?

It's so f'ing fast dude. Running good. It sputters from time to time in normal driving. Tuner said nothing can be done about that. ECU fighting. I'm happy as anything. I just want it to last.

I wouldn't doubt that for a second lol. Does your AFR gauge read weird when it sputters?

I would also look at your MAF voltage readings when that happens. Are you logging data when you drive? Good tool to look back and figure out your issue.

Yeah. A little bit. Drops a point or 2 then goes back. Did you replace the stock 02 sensor with a wideband or oem?

No data logging right now. I will at some point. Have to install the aem software on my laptop first.

Got new toy parts in today too. ARB air locker, high output compressor, and 4.88 gears to go with 35's.

Still running good. CEL came on, did a hard reset. Lasted half a day, came on again. Finally today while filling up my gas I think I figured out the gas cap has to be completely clicked tight. After I made sure it was clicked tight the cel no longer came on. Must've been a vaccum issue.....? I dunno. Happy it's off again.

Throwing a p0171, bank 1 too lean, p0130, oxygen sensor bank 1, and p0133. Probably between the turbo and old age (17 yrs) the oxygen sensor is failing. Gio, you called that, and I have to get emissions soon. So I got a new Bosch o2 sensor. Putting it in soon.

Yeah, I'm probably going to undo the turbo charge pipes for emissions to ensure I pass. They drive pretty aggressively on that smog dyno. Might want to seafoam your rig too just to make sure everything is burning clean in there.

So yesterday as my girlfriend and I were driving home I noticed a large lifted Ford 250 or 350. It was bright yellow, huge tires and wheels, and you could hear the big turbo whistle as it drove. He noticed me and my Tacoma, gave it gas, and let out a huge billow of of smoke out its ass. As I pulled up next to him I noticed it was a couple young guys who kind of smirked and laughed at my truck. We both gave gas to our engines a little bit and we came up to a light where I flagged them for a little go fast action. His buddy riding shotgun gave the hand signal for takeoff. I put it in 4 wheel drive and prepared for a lunch. The signal was given and I absolutely took off out of the hole with my front and rear tires losing a little traction. I was out of the hole and moving across the light before his 7000 pound truck could even launch. He stayed at least that truck length or two behind me the whole time. I can tell you how badass the turbo is on our trucks and what a great feeling to smoke the doors off of one of those big bad diesel trucks whose owners think they rule the street. After the little race they were cool and waved at me appreciating my Tacoma and I honked the horn back as we went our separate ways. Thought some of you guys might enjoy that story.
