Aaron, your wheeling pics from October look awesome. Such a neat place!

Those radiator bushings made a dramatic improvement in my front end. Highly recommended.

Oh man...so my truck is going to vibrate even more now?! I'll use some lube on the body mounts - although I didn't use any on the front and haven't heard any noise.

One of my favorite places to wheel & camp (and one of the only legal/free spots for us)

DO IT!! Should be the first thing people do if they wheel. I can't believe the difference...so much less front end slop.

Thx man! I'll go that route if I can't find a neoprene one

Greasing poly bushings is important to stop unwanted noises where torsional force is applied to the bushing such as control arms, leaf springs, anti sway bar mounts, aka dynamic applications.

But for a bushing sandwich application, it's static, and if torqued properly it won't matter. This is because no rubbing or sliding should occur on the bushing face.

    I personally wouldn't bother...

The body bushings are in my list as well. Probably won't get to them until Jan, Feb time frame. I look forward to your pics... :)

It's funny you should ask, I searched the FSM a few times and could not find it, or my doc library is incomplete.

Tor may know, he has done them. @Torspd.

I believe it's 35ft/Lb for the body mounts. I have it written down at home.

( insert you got the question wrong buzzer sound here ) wrrrrrong ( just about the cab mounts ) you are not accounting for torsional forces of the entire frame and cab twisting amigo. Our frames and cabs flex so damn much that the urethane bushings wiggle a bit inside the sandwich...and I have run them at every torque up to " hulked ". The smooth surface of the urethane bushing grips the washer really well until it lets go and "creak - pop" happens...literally just rolling slow over uneven ground. If you ever want a real shocker slap a GoPro under your truck and just go drive down an average road, just backing out of your driveway the f'n pos frame flexes 1/4". If you have a plate bumper point a GoPro at the body gap between you fender and the bumper...that flexes a solid 1/2" offroad.

Aaron, yes you will feel even more vibes because the OE mounts are soft rubber and the urethane ones are solid. The reason you don't hear any noise from the core support bushings is that the entire core wall area is so weak it all flexes in one big piece. The cab is a bit more solid and does not flex at the same rate as the frame.

....or you can ignore me and have to jack your body off the frame a second time to go back and add some lube.

My OE cab mount bushings were in perfect condition and to be honest I regret replacing them with urethane...not necessary and a comfort downgrade IMO

32 ft lbs. But @Benson X said the Toyota tech said "Get them as tight as you can"

I get that you think you know what your talking about but frankly it is yourself who is wrong here. Don't believe me? Pick up the phone and call Prothane (888-776-8426), or Energey Suspeion (949.361.3935) and ask their tech support if body bushings require grease. They don't, which is why neither of their body bushing kits contain grease.

If I were to speculate based on what you wrote, it's entirely possible that greasing them may have a negative effect. Anyways, I'm not gonna say any more on the subject in Arron's build thread. There is a poly bushing thread for that.

Lol...I fkn love this forum...only place I know where you can warn people about issues based on your personal factual experience and have keyboard quarterbacks argue with you  I actually did call Energy the day after I installed the entire kit on my truck to tell them about the creak/pop noise and they suggested I exceed the OE torque specs as those specs were for the OE bushings. They agreed the noise was exactly what I described, the bushing creaking against the washer under torsional stress. I cranked them down two more times until I had the distinct feeling that it was entirely too much torque for a bushing and it did not resolve the issue so I called them back just a few days later and ran through it again with them and when I asked why the bushings did not come with that little plastic tube of super sticky clear lube all of their other stuff comes with they said they did not anticipate there being a problem. They understood what I was describing to them and took time to explain to me exactly what grease/lube I may already have in my garage would be good to use on the bushings. ( basic moly graph grease is fine per Energy ) No negative effects at all they just said to keep it very thin since it is a compression application. The reason they don't suggest it or kit it is simply because they did not foresee that the Taco flexes so badly.

But again...go ahead and ignore me if you want because taking your interior apart, pulling you rear storage bins back out, disconnecting your steering shaft etc and jacking your body up all over again to remove the body bushings to put a little lube on them clearly sounds like a bucket of fun to you, cheers.

Aaron, have you had any damage to the core support on the drivers side to to your 31M battery?
Any trouble getting the bolt out and back in on the drivers side when you installed the bushings?

I had to use a pry bar to gently line up the holes, attributed that to jacking up the core and misaligning it.

No visible damage from the 31M but I'm sure it's not helping. I'd like to eventually relocate it...
