How is the Colorado a Malibu with a bed? If that's the case, it's pretty sad that it can out-haul and out-tow the Tacoma.

The same could be said for most owners and their trucks.

Any real evidence to support your claim?

Um.... Do you read the magazine? All the proof you need.

Also, about the article... So they ran the test vs a SR5? Really? And they lost me at the statement "handedly beat" the Taco in the 1/4 Mike pulling a trailer by a whopping .7 seconds.

why does the colorado bother everyone so much? I would be hard pressed to buy one myself but I think the competition is good for all makes. The Tacoma isn't as great as it used to be. Bigger and more bells and whistles but not bullet proof. With G.M and the resurgence of the Ranger maybe Tacoma will buckle down and build a little better.

I do read MT, quite regularly. I can recall countless comparison tests where a GM product didn't win and was heavily criticized. They do have a hard-on for diesels, which is why I wasn't the least bit surprised the Colorado won again. If you recall, the Diesel Ram beat out the all new Silverado and Sierra in 2014, giving it the second win in a row as well.

Last time I owned a GM product (2001 GMC Highrider) I gave GM my paycheck and wallet so I can keep driving my truck.

Because they have fully boxed frames, much better payload and Diesel engine that provides great range.
Unlike Tacoma. In fact Colorado is now a Hilux in US.

No, they have them because Toyotas in the Middle East is like Ford and Chevy back here. Very common.

So much butthurt.... seems 2016 Tacoma folks need a douchbag of the year award. :D
Hey you want to win Truck of the Year. Build better truck.
Seatbelt bracket Mike can learn few things. Also a lot of people forget that new Diesel Colorado is not really GM per se. Its Holden and anybody who is interested in cars knows Holden makes some pretty crazy designs, and they are well respected design house. If GM used Holden more they would get better cars.

You can not fight if you spending time looking for gas stations,
You can not mount a gun on the truck with plastic bed, and frame bending under 1/4 of cord of wood.
Hilux is a champ, Tacoma is like little sister of it.

Of of course the conspiracy theory tin foil hat wearing folks are going to say this was bought and paid for. If so, Toyota should have outbid GM. With as little as Sweers did to update the '16, there should have been plenty of money left in the budget to pay off M/T.

Not only did they praise the diesel Colorado/Canyon, M/T trashed the '16 Tacoma, even said twins braking was better.

Partly correct here. I've driven my fair share of up armored Tacos, and all were very capable. Those were modified, though. A Hilux is ready to go out of box, so you're right there.

our input is not part of the decision for Truck of the Year. So how do we play into the equation of truck of the year whether we take it off road or not?

Whether this is old news or not, that award may sway those people that have yet to own a truck and want something that has this honor. Lot of uneducated truck buyers out there, and something like this article pays big.

That's the problem for Toyota, lots of educated buyers that read. Most don't off road as much as on road, if they did an off road comparison, Jeep would win.

They tested both SR5 RWD and TRD O/R 4x4.

Not saying I agree with the result. But I did read the articles.

Because IMO that is what it looks like. No styling. The front looks like a Malibu. Its not sad at all. How many really need ALL their towing and payload capacity? Not many. Few buy on specs alone. Most of us don't even know or care what towing capacity or Payload is because we will never exceed either going about our normal day.

If I really was concerned about payload and towing ,I would have purchased a Tundra or F150

Wow Tyler..... Struck a chord eh? Don't know what's sadder, the fact that you felt compelled to write that long post, or the fact you literally did research for it.
