Anyone who has ever owned a Chevrolet knows the service sucks on those things including the dealer service. Chevrolet was the worse dealer service I've ever had between Acura, BMW and Toyota.

I wanted to purchase a canyon....price is the same, but always incentives. Reliabilty, 1 up tire, no 1998 grand am center counsel, and Marty mcfly brought me back and made me spend 2 grand more for a pimped out tacoma (without power seats, telescopic steering wheel, homelink, stock remote starter, or standard locker). Wait....did I just say that

In my 40 years on this earth I've never owned a chevy. Seen too many relatives with chevy's of all types. Remember the cavalier wagon?

How refreshing, a guy with an open mind. GM's products are even better in 2016. Many folks are so close minded they remember the uncle or brother with the bad Chevy but seem to forget about the Tacoma that collapsed in the middle as a result of frame rust.

Don't get me started on Chrysler, I bought a new wrangler and it caught on fire the day I drove it off the lot on the freeway. Needless to say that's why I'm in a Tacoma now.

Wow that was unfortunate. Good thing Wrangler's have the highest resale value of ANY vehicle. Wonder why that is?

Remember the 1983 car of the year? It was the Renault Alliance for those senior citizens on this forum. We called it the Appliance. Probably the biggest embarrassment to MT Magazine.

But the shifter in that GM, how long will they keep using that crap? My brothers old ZR2 had a similar styled shifter.

As for Motortrend.........meh. I hardly thumb through them anymore because of the amount of GM ad's is a little excessive. Some issues seem as if they are nothing but GM catalogs.

I actually thought Tacoma held that title.....65% after 5 years I think.

Agreed. I see ads like this all the time for various models of vehicles (e.g. Tacoma, Corolla, Civic). 10 years old, 300,000 clicks and they still want a mint.

Yes these vehicles are reliable but there is a limit to everything. The motor and transmission MIGHT be solid (but realistically how lomg) but then there is everything else.....

Was that the TuRD edition? No actually KBB currently shows the Tacoma, followed closely by the Colorado and Canyon. 4 out of 10 are GM vehicles; imagine that?

I am really confused on why you bother coming to a Tacoma forum...

One of the reasons I went with my Tacoma was the potential for resale value.

Well, next time, you'll have more choices, Colorado and Canyon very close to the Tacoma on resale.

I'd rather go with tried and true vs. speculation. Colorado/Canyon have been out for what, a year? Most issues in regards to engines or its ability to hold up won't be known for a couple more years at least.

Last Chevy we owned crapped out after that 4 year period too. Reached 50,000 miles and basically everything failed.

Then stay away from the '16 Tacoma, Toyota says it's a new model. First model year reliability seems to be a problem on this forum. The Colorado/Canyon now past that, might be a better choice for you.
