The other thing to check is how level the side caps are. maybe 2nd gens tilt outward a bit for water to run off? 3rds gens are dead flat.

wouldn't that depend on how level the truck is parked?

Yeah. But a few degrees outward slope would make a huge difference, unless you are parking on a lot of hills. I dunno, just wanted and excuse to go play around the truck. :)

Thanks for the pictures. This has been very constructive. I think what we have here is a cover that is too narrow. I bet it could stand to be at least 1.5" wider based on looking at the pictures. Also, the rough bed caps don't contribute to a good seal. I bet some smooth bed caps might solve my problem.

That's what my bed caps look like.

I just ordered the 2.0 for my rig thanks to all of your reviews. Veterans day 20% discount at AutoAccessoriesGarage was $655.20 delivered. http://www.autoaccessoriesgarage.com/Tonneau-Covers/Extang-Solid-Fold-2-0-Tonneau-Cover

Easy on, Easy off sold me. I like that my Cleats will still work underneath too.

If it leaks, I'll figure it out. I put my priceless pyro treasures in water proof totes anyway... or I'll tow my trailer.

Now I just need to key my tailgate.

Yes, I will take a look and see if it's leaking everywhere. I definitely noticed water entering the bed from the gaps in the bed rail near the cab. I've also emailed an Extang rep and will let everyone know what I hear if there's some trick to this!

They do call it the most weather resistant hard folding cover on the market.

I'm in the same boat. i have the soft version of that cover, the Trifecta. We have rain coming tomorrow so I will be watching very closely. I usually keep my golf clubs back there so I am hoping it is relatively minimal.

I saw the gap you are referring to and filled it with a few pieces of "peel-n-stick" foam weather stripping before installing the cover...

Here are coupla pics... No rain yet... They do say DO NOT overtighten as you may distort the cover.... In a pic from someone else, I noticed that his seemed to by higher at the front and rear... He may have overtightened and distorted it.. be careful, I guess.

There seems to be a lot of room at the rear, hope it seals OK.DSCN0978.jpg

Ok, just went outside at the office as it's finally stopped raining for a bit. There is water in the bed, not as much as anticipated. As you can see near the rear the bed mat itself is pretty dry and is likely still damp from the rain yesterday when I didn't have the cover on. The most noticeable water is near the front of the bed where the gaps are, once the water gets in there is can travel along the bed-rail and drip everywhere. This is my theory anyways as the seal looks great everywhere else!

I'm going to play with a couple options to try and fill these gaps, like @over60 I think I'll put some weather stripping in there. I'm also going to explore the use of a conformable vinyl to completely cover the top rail and gap, put it right under where the cover sits. I want to prevent water from entering this area as much as possible.

I also adjusted the tension on the clips and will see what works better, it was a little loose so I tightened them a bit more for a better grab.

I sent in my issue on 11/10/15 to jeff@extang.com. Still no answer. I guess they are backlogged with unhappy customers. I think the more emails they get, the more they will understand what they are selling. There must not have been any time spent on testing their most 'weather resistant' cover!

That's some major leakage. We have had some substantial rain recently and my 2.0 had just a few drops.

    Really?

Hmmm, wondering if I've installed it in the right spot then. Do you have pics?

Is your Solid Fold on a 2016? Long bed or short bed?

It's not water getting in when driving it seems to be when it's just sitting and water runs forward towards the cab because of the rake of the truck.

After driving in the rain it wasn't that wet, a few drops. But it sat overnight in the pouring rain and that's when I saw more water in the bed.

I noticed @over60 has his installed closer to the cab than to the rear of the bed, maybe this helps. @Mike G where does yours sit in reference to the bed?

The water is a design in the truck itself. Where the side rails meet the back bed, there is a large gap where water gets in. Here is a pic of my trifecta. These are vertical gaps and there is no way the cover can seal.

You can see the cover is tight, but the vertical gaps let the water flow. So it is not the tonneau but the bed lets water in even below the bed caps.

2016 Long Bed. I do see the light coming through the gaps in the front. I agree this is not the covers fault, I will seal this area and it should be pretty weatherproof.
