the lettering looks good but it kind of looks like the letters are well....glued on. I think it would look cool to have the black mesh grill with the lettering painted in the mesh matched to body color or a gray. That would give the lettering kind of a phantom or very subtle shadow look. Would make people kind of do a double take like "did I see Toyota image in that grill?"

 

I like the silver double woven wire. Any chance you can get a photo of it installed?

 

Great to see your installation, looks real sharp and blue is my color . The teaser pic is real good, but if you have better then I look forward to seeing those.

I do have stencils available. At some point, I'll give that a try and see how it comes out. Also will be trying color matched metal letters soon, as well as painted bezels.

That one just sold a couple days ago and shipped yesterday. I talked to the customer and he said that he planned on painting it a different color, but also said that he'll try to get an installed pic of it before changing it. Kinda curious to see what he comes up with, but also want to see it in the full silver/chrome glory.

 

I just ordered one! I talked my wife into letting me get it as an anniversary present. Just need to decide if I want to install it with the chrome bezel on the truck, or if I'm going to order a black bezel.

 

Can you add the toyota letters to the chrome mesh grill?

 

I know it all boils down to personal preferance but, the more I see these after market grills the better the stock trd grill looks.

 

I'm not sure I understand the question but the letters can be added to the 2016 Tacoma silver mesh pieces (which is not chrome) we have on our site. If you were asking if they could be added to the silver double woven wire prototype, that might have been possible.

Side note, I'm working on a black double woven on black bezel this weekend, hope to have a couple pics of that soon.

 

I like the style of the new grill but for some reason, it's making the grill look
even bigger to my eyes than stock.

 

It definitely does. The first thing to do to make it look smaller is to color match the chrome surround. Chrome or black for the surround adds to the size. The next thing to do to help break it up is some sort of bar across the middle, like the TRD Pro grill.

 

We should have the first color matched bezel (Magnetic Gray), as well as some color match letters (Super White), done this upcoming week. The center bar is still a work in progress. In order to make it even remotely cost effective, we had to narrow it quite a bit.

 

Definitely considering one of these after I get new tires/rims.

 

I'm still hunting for my 2016. But this will be my first mod for sure.
I agree with the others that this mod does make the grill look even larger.

A painted bezel and stamped mesh like was mentioned I think would go a long way towards reducing the size of the grill.

 

When my Inferno shows up, I'm going to take a shot at spraying the bezel myself with Inferno. Once I screw that up, I'll order one of your color-matched ones (if you have Inferno by then).

 

ordered my mesh and letters from Matt on last Friday. thanks for a all the info and a good deal. will post pics once I hack my stock grill and do this mod.

ACKtrd30, what size font are the letters on the grill? I have the same grill without letters and would like to add. They're a good size, not to big or to small.
