Nice bump. I passed a house today that had Christmas lights already up. I don't mind a little early. But shit. November 5th?!

I talked to a CHP buddy of mine. He said we should be fine as long as they are not flashing. And that only a scrooge CHP would cite you for it. Just make sure your driving is legal too.
BTW, Halloween was fun with orange lights in the bed.

so I tried reading through as much as i could before falling over, but how do us folks without a power plug in the bed accomplish this? Power inverter? I know there are Solar Powered ones, and I thought about those...

I'm probably going to do it the day after thanksgiving. Last year I used zip ties and used the little holes that line the tracks on the bed rails. The problem I had was that the lights sat a little low in the bed and it wasn't as visible as it could be. I wonder what the best way would be to get the lights to stay ontop of the plastic bed liners?

As I am sitting here thinking about my setup, I was thinking that some clear or black sticky as all get out 3M or thin piece of Duct tape would work

I tried tape last year and it didn't hold up very well. Lots of ice, freezing and thawing here. I'm sure it would work in TX though.

Dont let Texas fool you, we get some of the worst Ice around lol I also was thinking maybe a thin piece of straight iron or angle iron (bolted into the track of course) with a hole in it, at each corner that you could run the lights through or zip tie to...

Just put some candy canes in mine.
The ones in the back are on stakes and the others are resting on the lip around the bed.

I will post another at night.
I'm interested to see how these hold up.

as long has it does not block the license plate. I believe in Tx that as long as you do not have white light shining to the rear you are OK.
