That's pretty cool! You can probably find shrink tube that big, but if not you could use a potting compound. Nice work!

Do you have any information on how to install this on a 2015 Tacoma? I added Muth heated mirrors before to my 2008 Tacoma (before I launched it over a guardrail...lol), and I used the Sienna switch and a relay (which I still have).

You're pretty much done if you have the wiring. There are two prongs on the back of the defrosting films, one for power and one for ground.

If you're going to use your stock mirrors, just pop them out of the backing plate and remove the stock adhesive pad. Then you'll stick on the new defrosting films and wire them up.

If you have more questions please let me know.

I went with the 4runner mod. Had the whole housing colour matched. Way better than half and half.CAM00119-1.jpg CAM00121.jpg CAM00120.jpg

The puddle lights are a nice touch on those. Are you going to try and get the folding mirrors to work? I don't think anyone on here has done that yet.

Nice. Suggest replacement the bulbs with LED bulbs. Puts out more lights.

Pics doesn't do it justice, but you get the idea.

You weren't kidding that the pics don't do it justice... still looks dark on the ground lol..... but yeah using LED would be a big improvement.

Haha thanks. I actually got the mirrors folded in.

As for the power folding feature I've tried searching for viable options. Closest mirrors would be the Sienna Limited. It ain't cheap though, if I had the $$$ I would haha. Plus I don't even know if it would bolt right in with the Tacoma bracket. That and you have the wiring to worry about. It something that I am going to look into.

Yeah it's not a cheap mod to tackle, and no guarantees that it will work either since (as far as I know) nobody has done it yet. Still looks kind of fun to tackle though. I think it could be done with a bit of custom metal fab work if everything doesn't naturally just fit. I imagine the wiring is not too bad for that alone unless you wanted to have them auto fold when the doors get locked and come back out when they unlock... even then probably not too complex.

No problem. I just wrapped up the install on an FJ today. So much easier since I was able to tap into the rear window defroster power wire. No extra switch taking up space and a two hour install sure is nice. If only they were all that easy.

Does the 4 Runner mirror assembly bolt right up/fit correctly to the Tacoma door?

you reuse the arm and the adapter (holds the mirror to the arm) from your truck, there are no fitment issues
