    Okay, this is my inner organizer coming out, even though it's unlikely I can make this* even if I want to really bad...

    1. As far as dates, the best thing to do would be to call the OHV park. Camping is by reservations only so the date is highly dependent on what's available. Not sure how far in advance they are booked, but they only have 13 campsites and I'm not sure how many trucks/tents they allow per site.

    2. I'd also be curious as to whether any of their campsites have power and water hook-ups. Their literature seems to indicate none, but it does mention RV sites being $25 a night. That might mean those have power and water.

    3. I know I suggested March, but if it's still in the 50s that might be a bit cool for Floridiots with no power to run heaters/electric blankets/whatever. The inverters on the TRD ORs will be fine for air mattresses and such, but not running a heater all night. :(

    4. For those that have never been there before, take note of the First Timer's form you'll need to fill out on the website I posted the link to.

    *unless someone is volunteering to trailer the OGT up there and back...:D

    I'm not sure about the water hook up and what not but he has a building/old house where people cook in and use bathroom what not open all the time

    Yeah, that's mentioned on the website. :thumbsup: I'm guessing the parking lot campsites would be the best if one wanted the facilities (and toilets) to be within walking distance. The river side campsites, while more scenic) would either require good planning and a drive to the toilets or digging a latrine. :D

    We're talking Floridiots here...well, some of us are anyway...but these are folks that dress like they're on an expedition above the arctic circle when it dips below 60*. :D A campfire a dozen or so feet from the tent is probably not going to be a sufficient heat source. :p And best upgrade the beer to Vodka or JD. ;)

    Now I'm not saying that the FL contingent can't handle camping in cool weather with no power for heat, but in general, unless an individual does a lot of camping in more northerly and colder locations, they may not be equipped for it. I know my tent is like to be a little breezy for cold weather. That said, as long as they wear thermal underwear, warm sweats, and a warm pair of socks or two, they shouldn't be too uncomfortable unless they just can't tolerate sleeping with a bunch of clothes on. :eek::lalala:
