Ugh, 44 degrees at night in Hollister on Saturday night.

 

I'll have a set of Icons coilovers (non resi) for sale if anyone is interested. Standard travel with 650lb springs. I'll throw in the spanner. Looking for $950. I'll post pics up once I get a chance to clean them up.

 

How many miles on them?

 

Aprox 15k all street driving.

^Yea I looked at those. I'm just slightly nervous about a bottle of propane next to my face lol.

 

It seems sketchy, but it works well if you have it on a solid surface, plenty of vetilation, and space around it. I'm still getting one of these:


It was Kings vs. Fox's. Kings and no heater, or Fox's and this furnace. The shocks aren't the same, but I'll be camping all winter (with the kids and wife).

 

Heres the buddy I'm probably bringing along if everything goes right!

 

Pop and pee in the new truck. Or lots of stops.

Camping wusses! 34-36° is a warm night. Expedition thermals with light weight socks in a three seasons 20° bag. Heaters are nice if you like hauling the device and the propane. The only thing I find uncomfortable is a cold bitter wind. I never have time for a fire, but will show up and share yours.

Want to stay warm? Chocolate right before bed. Drink less pee less. Will save you from getting up at night and finding you're cold again. Nothing like falling down a ladder of RTT. Young ens, I swear, what ever happened to just sleeping out under the stars.

Enjoy your time off grid. How ever fleeting it might be.

 

I found that a large gator aid bottle works really well when you gotta pee in the middle of the night. Learned my lesson years ago deer hunting when it was in the teens. Could not warm back up and shivered all night.

 

How do you identify it in the dark?

 

The youngest kid spent her first night in the camper at 2 months. At 5 months she went to Bear Valley (Hell's Kitchen), Laurel lakes, Bristlecone Pine forest, and Mamoth. The older one has been camping in Wyoming, Montana, & Idaho. Made sure both kids saw Yosemite and Zion before ever going to Disneyland (grandparent sponsored & initiated trip). Death Valley last December and many weekends in between. Dozens of cold nights in the camper. The heater made it more possible, and bearable for the kids and wife. Also spent many nights in the kirkwood parking lot during riding season. Wouldn't be the same without it.

 

Forgot to mention- kids are now only 2.5 & 5.5 years old. Plan to get the older one on skis this winter and will be camping with her at kirkwood. Heater is a game changer!

 

Have a waterproof backseat cover for dogs, gonna put about 3" of pee pads under it lol. One more reason i want to try to get on the road early lol. No RTT for me, just a bunch of coleman stuff. Im thinking puppy in his crate in the tent with me, or crate stays in the truck, havemt decided yet.

 

Until you don't wake up one night from CO poisoning. I am fighting a high reading in an aircraft at work. Have not nailed down the leak but the meter does not lie.

 

Vents always open in the tent top. C02 meter as well. Still a concern though.. Which is why I'm switching to a Propex.

Just like a kid, feed it or drinks, take it outside to do its thing. You have to have religion on this one thing. Mine came home at 9 weeks. By week 10-11 he was house trained. Still you have to allow for an occasional accident. Set a pattern and the pup will follow. Never show any anger, they all want to be part of a pack.

My tacoma is just "a big dog box". Mine is with me or the truck 24/7.
