I did and I regret it all the time. Don't get me wrong, I love my 2015 but after seeing the 16 and all the upgrades it has over the 15 I wish I had waited a few months. Plus I probably could have gotten white.

Everyone has their preference in why they buy something. If they had a chance to buy it because they liked the look of the second Gen ove the third, power to them. Not everyone is worried about the latest tech in a truck. Proven reliability is quite important also.

    ^^^ This.

I bought a 2015 instead of a 2016 for two main reasons: First, the 2015s are the last of the current platform, and as far as getting all the problems and kinks worked out, it's not going to get any better. The first iteration of any new vehicle from any manufacturer always has growing pains. Call them problems, call them whatever you want, but at the end of the day, they're issues that I'd prefer not to have. And secondly, I personally think the 2016s are uglier than someone's backwoods, inbred sister. I LOVE the looks of the 2015.

Also - again, personal opinion - I don't need crawl control or all that stuff on the 2016. My 2015 has crawl control too. It's called the gas pedal.

If I wanted a crossover car type ride I would've waited and got a 16. But I wanted a truck that rides like a truck and does everything I want a truck to do so I bought the 2015.

I love my 2015 Tacoma sport but after I put it side by side with the new 2016 Tacoma I could really see how my 15 was showing its age and an outdated look front to back.

You could sell it and buy a 16 at not much of a loss if you want. Almost used Tacomas are worth about as much as new ones. I know because I began my search looking for a lightly used one.

Meh...I wanted a proven power plant because this is what I will be driving daily for at least five years and probably over 100k miles. Toyota does a great job making reliable vehicles, but I still didn't want to be a guinea pig.

Plus I found the 2016 ugly, front end looks like a pug. It doesn't look nearly as bad in person though.

Well my 2015 is New to me.had my 07 for 8 years and would of been longer if it wasn't getting eaten up with truck cancer -rust.I like the looks of the 16 and when you look at it it really isn't that much of a change.I am waiting.Have done a lot of treatments on this one for anti rust and hope to keep it longer.Always new power plant and tranny may have a few kinks to work out but getting a good deal was best for me.LOVE MY NEW BABY.TacoTaco♡♡

Saw the 2016 problems poll thread, glad I'm in my 15. To be fair though a lot of those problems are from the 6 and the auto transmission.

I bought a 2014 because I knew they were going to do an all-new 2016 3rd gen, does that count?

To be clear everyone i simplified the poll when i made it by just saying ugly appearence, but i suppose i meant more than that. Like the other reasons that have been mentioned.

I wouldn't say hate the apperance, however was not impressed with the redesign, and mechanical changes. That and buying first model year vehicles makes me very cautious. First year of mk4 vws had major gremlins so I held off 4years on that car, so I figured 10 years on a proven design would be no problem.

    I bought a used 2013 because I didn't want a 3rd Gen.
I was initially going to order one. I'm glad I didn't. Because #1 Toyota didn't build these things fast enough and weren't shipping them out right. I never would have gotten mine on time #2 the price tag is outrageous. No mid-size truck is worth that much. Sorry. #3 the grille is more hideous in person than in pictures. #4 The engine sucks. It's not enjoyable to drive.

I'm very, very, very happy with my 2013. It's not perfect, I think Toyota makes a cheap truck compared to other makers, but I love my Tacoma. The price was right with a slightly used 2013.

No way I was paying what they are asking for a 2016. No way. I wouldn't pay that for a Tundra even.

forgat #5 Shit brakes left and right lower quality than Yugo ? if that is even possible ....
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/issues-poll.424177/page-3#post-12150637

Whole third section has more issues in couple months of production of that truck than 2gen section after over million trucks produced and 11 years of sale...

They missing bunch of them like exploding transfer cases or rear differentials, at this point it looks like anything not from 2gen is major problem....
