How hard did you pull on the tail light covers to replace the reverse lights? The light cover gets pretty loose after removing the two bolts and tugging on it but never comes free.

You don't even need to leave it down. From what I read in the manual, if it's not locked, you can open it, disconnect the wires and camera harness, and it's yours.

It's my biggest worry and I leave it locked when I leave the truck in places like the airport, etc. for longer than a day.

Are the pivot points the same as before? Is it easy to do?

I'd say just keep the tail gate locked when it's not in use. Works for me, as I don't have much need to open it frequently.

It was tough getting a pic in the dark. I stuck it to the bottom of the door with the provided 3m double stick tape. Then I put the magnet sensor under the plastic piece/threshold inside the truck. Took about 5 min. When you search on eBay, some of the sellers have instructions in the description.

On my 2nd gen there was a "mod" where you just put a hoseclamp around one side of the tailgate hinge to help prevent theft. It's not going to entirely prevent it, but the idea was a common thief wants a quick grab and being slowed down usually turns them off.

Not sure if a hoseclamp is still an option for these 3rd gens, but I have an extra and will try it out once I actually get my Tacoma.

I have only changed wheels so far. Waiting on an Undercover SE bed cover.

With just the rack itself it is very sleek and one of the most low profile racks you will find. It looks much different now with the hi lift mounts on the drivers side which takes away from the sleekness. Hopefully these pics will give you a better idea and help you make a decision. I love it and even more so since I can add just about any attachment since it is modular in design.

How hard was it to gain access to the bulbs to switch the LEDs in? I am always worried I would break the cover before it pops off.
