Has anyone heard about Tacoma production being on hold from Baja Plant? Anybody have any insight into why there's a hold? I placed an order in October for a DC TRD OR and just found out from the dealer today that the production of Tacomas are on hold , and he has no more information. Does this have something to do with the airbag recall?
    Thanks.

This has been rumored 2-3 others times on TW since the 3rd gens started production. Hasn't ever been confirmed and I think just turned out to be rumors/misunderstanding each time...

Saw it mentioned elsewhere that they are outrunning their suppliers (not just mudguards) because they are building so many trucks trying to keep up with demand. An astute marketing firm would look at the number of DCSB trucks sitting on dealer lots unsold and the number of folks currently waiting on a DCLB truck to be built and advise Toyota to plan to make more DCLB trucks next year. Too bad Toyota doesn't have any astute marketing folks working in the group that judges consumer demand. They also would have suggested that Toyota use the OR edition in all the commercials showing trucks flying around offroad instead of the Sport.

I read the same article but that problem is a longer term issue and not impacting near term production rates just yet.

This has been rumored multiple times but never confirmed. Each time it just seems like dealers pulling the strings of potential buyers to have an excuse.

Each time this comes up, multiple people show that their truck was just built, and everything is fine...just as @nwAdamR did above.

OP, are you in Utah? I think one of the other production hold rumors was started by a Utah dealer...

I went to one of the largest dealers in SD county the other day and they only had three '16s on the lot. I talked to the head parts dept mgr and he said they could not keep them in stock for even one day. He said the Mex plant was running at full capacity and all the trucks were going straight to Los Angles. This dealer was seven miles from the border, yet the trucks were from San Antonino.

My DCLB was built at the Baja Plant and was delivered to the dealership in Orange County four days later.

The 16th is our last week of school before Christmas break, so that would allow us to pick it up any day, probably. That'd be sweeeeet
