 Welcome Katie. You will be getting a lot of different opinions on this. I suggest you look at the suspension threads here. Just going off your pics. So you know what you have, front is stock bilstiens with coil spacer. Rear is block kit. And your 285s are about a 32.5' tire. Also spindle lifts only apply to 2wd. You have 4x4. 33s will rub unless you do major trimming and cutting. Wheel spacers will eventually lead to bearing failure IMHO. Good luck!

The experts on here took forever to notice the obvious strut spacer
Might have already been pointed out but based on the thickness of it thats a 2.5 - 3" lift spacer. Your coils are stock!

Filthymotorsports in Colorado is a great resource. I talked to them at length about what options I had for King Shocks on my truck. Super nice people and very knowledgable. Getting some custom leaf springs for the rear from Alcan or Deaver would help out your truck a lot. They can make the leaf springs for your needs and provide the correct amount of lift to match the front so your truck sits level. If you go above around 2.5 inches of front suspension lift on a Tacoma, after market upper control arms for the front end may needed. It can also lead to vibration issues in the drivetrain, which will require more workarounds. After talking to them, I decided on around 2 inches of lift in the front, 1 inch of lift in rear from custom leaf springs. That way my truck will have a great ride and avoid the potential problems associated with a taller lift.

This thread is such fail. Not you, OP, but the people here.

    1. Your tires are 285-75/R16s. 285 is the width, 75 is the height (32.8" diameter by 11.22" width). With 285s on any suspension without considerable back-spacing your tires will rub up against the cab mount. A very common thing done with fat tires is called the cab mount chop. You'll need to buy some plates from one of the fabricators on this site, cut the cab mount, and then weld the new plates on. I'd personally do everything possible to avoid wheel spacers, including the cab mount chop.

    2. You have a spacer lift up front and likely a block lift on the rear springs (it's literally a box between the axle and leaf spring). You are using stock suspension, and it likely feels very "boaty" due to the front coils being overloaded by the bumper. Some people say spacer/blocks are fine for on-road performance, but they have some pretty serious problems and are actually detrimental for off-road use. Beyond that, you need to get new front suspension, no matter what.

    3. For the price range of your lift there are a TON of options, but it's not so straight forward as you'd think. Different equipment does different things, and this will depend on your particular needs. People will swear by their particular brand of suspension kit, but the reality is that the really expensive King and Icon kits are most likely far beyond necessary for anything you'll ever do in your Tacoma. You'd do fine with a Bilstein or OME kit with proper coils and leaf springs for your needs. Headstrong Offroad has some great kits and will work with you to customize them to your needs. I can't recommend them enough.

    4. As for tires that are useful off-road, again this depends on your requirements. If you want to hit the mud or go crawling, get wide mud tires. If you want to hit trails, even technically challenging ones, the general consensus is thinner is better. Take a look the serious expedition vehicles, many run 255 (10") or narrower tires. The real benefit to those is you can go up to 33" without having to cut anything or use spacers on stock wheels.

    5. Everything needs to be aesthetically pleasing and functional on surface streets. The reality is that 95% of your mileage will be done on paved surfaces (if not more), and you don't want some extreme off-road vehicle that you still have to drive to work. Suspension and tires will drastically impact on-road handling and ride comfort, and you need the right suspension for your current setup.

    6. Be careful of what you see on this site, it tends to drain your wallet.

Keep what you have, it'll be fine for what you want to do. Maybe upgrade your wheels to 4.5" backspacing and lose the front mud flaps. A billstein 5100 lift or OME will make for a better ride and be more than you need. Even a combo of both.
